Here's an intresting thread. What is your least favorite full song off of A Thousand Suns? And why? *prepares himself for the Robot Boy's
To be honest, I might have to say Wretches and Kings. The beginning-end of second chorus is 10/10 material, but then the song ends awkwardly IMO. I still give it something like 8.5/10 which shows how incredible this album is. As for Robot Boy, I was always an 8/10 kinda guy with that song but I've gone as far as 9.5 out of 10. Damn great track right there.
In Between. Weak instrumental, weak vocals, average lyrics (at best). Edit: Didn't see it was only ATS lol. I can't pick one. They are still all about equal for me.
Excluding interludes is hard considering my least favorite on the entire album that isn't Empty Spaces is Fallout - I always think I'm about to listen to The Catalyst and get excited :/ Least favorite full song on ATS would have to be ... The Messenger. It's not that it's a bad song, but I'm not particularly fond of putting the most mellow song, especially when it's acoustic, at the end of a powerful, synth and ethnic beats-filled album.
My least favorite would have to be "Burning In The Skies". It's too warm for the first two tracks, and all if that buildup serves no purpose. I'd still give it an 8 out of 10 though.
Despite just how loved it seems to be, mine would be Iridescent in a heartbeat. I simply do not understand the love for it. It honestly bores me. I didn't care for Burning In The Skies when I first heard it but that one grew on me. I dig the rest though.
Iridescent builds really smoothly. I also like the group singing together and the ending. That's far from my least favorite
But it's the most conventional song on ATS. I can relate to what disturbed is saying although I still disagree.
Sorry, but I am going to have to go with Robot Boy. The verse melody just keeps repeating and I just lose focus, it's as simple as that. The song doesn't really go anywhere for me.
Robot Boy. Of the 50 or so times I've listened to it I've only clicked a handful of times. Mostly while intoxicated. VV
Probably When They Come for Me, if only because Mike's rapping about how he totally doesn't suck as a rapper and the "Catch up MOTHERFUCKAAAAAAAAAA"s sound far too forced.
