What about a fan-made "A Thousand Suns: Live"-DVD? what we have: - Linkin Park - several shows all over the world - lots of fans - a fan-based forum what we need: - HD cams - lots of videos - people with knowledge of merging these videos to DVD, Blu-ray etc - in general: willingness & teamwork anyone interested? would be a huge project.
That would be amazing if we pulled it off. Damn, give credit to those NIN fans. That's dedication right there.
Oh how badly I wish this would happen! Theres been a 30 Seconds To Mars fan-filmed concert which was amazing (apart from Jared's singing live SHOCKING!) But yeah, it would be great.
And i guess we need some help with the sound. Normally when filming in the crowd, the sound could be horrible.
DSP's could help with that actually. All we would really need is some great video shots, and someone who is great at syncing audio to video, it should work out rather well.
I don't know if we'd be able to match what the NIN fanbase is capable of ... but I guess it'd be fun to try. Our community and the one at LPL could probably pull off something pretty cool.
i guess that's everything we need. i also like the idea with incorporating the LPLive community. maybe someone could tell them about this project? for now, we just have to wait till the tour is finished. this thread is an appeal to all the LPA users who are going to see LP live: go take some videos, motherfuckers after that we should start this thread again. PS: i'm sorry for my bad school english, hope it doesn't make any problems
I'm pretty much into LPL. Should I ask some staff members from there what they think about this? Would be no problem...
Yes you can . . . . just click edit post, and then click delete. See: [thumb]http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii172/lauer619/iknowexactlywhatiamtalkingabout.png[/thumb]
But you can't film with the gear that would made a good quality video without the acceptance of 3 parties. the band/the venue/WB. LP would have to make a 'free camera' policy - not sure they will, it can be too much trouble. And don't forget NIN had no record label, WB will never let people film the band and not make money out of it. I'm pretty sure it's doomed. Live video recording of LPL come from official parties that were authorized to film the event. When it's not the case, it's trade between fans but it doesn't go official. Filming LP and sharing your video - is the same concept as using their logo on your teeshirt but as a great scale. I think that even if you don't make money out of it, you have to ask the authorisation to use the logo. The band is a logo.
actually I don't agree...if your not doing it for money...nobody should care....and about the logo thing...saying to authorise using the logo is like saying "Dude, I need your authorisation for the logo to put it on my webpage" I think as long as not SELLING the DVD everything should be finde to me
well, as long as we'll get enough video and audio, there'll happen something. and just for the record: I don't want to sell anything. for now - forget this whole DVD thing. I don't think we'll get enough support for this, so one or two big video files and a bit advertising should suffice. (as well I fear that my computer won't be able to mix big hd video files with that audio track.. will need help with that)
Ha you are right about the logo thing. But still, I don't think WB would approve and that people can film during shows with pro gear without having security harrassing them.
