I want the hip-hop influence back. Mike needs to be featured rapping a lot more; I'd like to also hear some more sampling/scratching. Hopefully we get more than the typical 12 songs as well.
I heard the songs are longer like as in 5-6 minute songs, and there are a lot of demos that the band has to get to. If the songs are indeed 5-6 minutes long then I won't mind 12 but if the songs are the 2-3 and the odd 4 then I really hope there will be more.
in a perfect world . . . mike said the all of his Fort Minor energy was going into this record so there should be a lot more hiphop a rapping. and mike did say that there would be a few lengthy tracks in the new album.
I actually think it was in a video, and I have no idea what video, but Todd has also heard the same thing.
Like that... and i hope like chester said, HT style plus Meterora style plus M2M style plus new LP fresh ideas.
Mike singing will be awesome (like "carry me away" or "NRL") songs with "solos" like "in pieces" and maybe more that one song of more than 3min of duration
It would be very interesting but I know it's not going to happen because Gaga has said she's not going to collab with anyone soon (after the screw ups Beyonce did to Telephone).
I would hope for LP to: 1. Get a bit more experimental in their song structures; more instrumental parts and just longer songs in general, which seems to be happening anyway, but that was 7 months ago. 2. Get more diverse lyrically. They've got the melodies, the beats, the riffs but for me those are the two things I consider to be their "problem" areas in the past. Songs that were all about the same lenght and structure with lyrics that were very similar all around. I credit them for starting to break away from those 2 things with MTM, so I guess the only thing I'd like them to do is to continue pushing those 2 boundaries. I don't mind what direction they go for regards sound/genre/style, as long as it's what they want and there's quality in it.
I'd wish profound songs, those that make you think. A bit melancholic, like Shadow of the Day, Little Things and HHH. I still love them, even if I've heard them over and over again. And epic songs, like some of you already said. Songs that grow. One really good would be enough, like a highlight. And even if I totally love Chesters voice, I would like to hear Mike singing one slow song. No Roads Left was amazing. Plus something that absolutely ROCKS and it was perfect to me ;D
