    Costume "Mocking" Immigration Being Yanked

Some stores have stopped selling an "illegal alien" Halloween costume after complaints from immigrant-rights activists. The costume includes an orange jumpsuit similar to prison garb, with "ILLEGAL ALIEN" stamped across the chest, a "green card" and a space alien mask.

Activists complained when they learned the costume was sold in stores or on Web sites of retailers including Target and Walgreens. It was priced at $27.49 to $39.99.

The costume makes a "mockery of the status of millions of immigrants in need of Immigration reform," said Chicagoan Jorge Mujica of the activist group the March 10th Committee.

This is so much bullshit. Seriously, it's not like it comes with a choice between a Cuban and a Mexican mask. FFS, it's called satire. Apparently we've all become over-sensitive dumbasses in this country.

The other side of it, so to speak

    And more.
"The only people getting upset are the hyper-sensitive, over-politically correct, pro-amnesty, illegal alien-supporting nuts," said Gheen. "You can't attack people's freedom in this country."

"I think having a costume like that is distasteful," said Andrea Hill, outside of Ricky's. "But if it's not illegal, I think it's alright for them to sell it."

Freedom of speech inevitably leads to somebody taking offense; people need to learn to live with that.

I can agree with the distasteful comment. But it shouldn't be yanked from stores. It's not illegal (I am aware of the pun lol) nor is it intending to offend. People just need to lighten up.

I don't see where it's distasteful at all. If anything, it's reminding me of MIB, what with the intergalactic immigration and whatnot. Besides, it's more poking fun at the people that poke fun at illegal immigrants, not the actual immigrants.

It's kitschy satire. People need to stop taking things so seriously.

I've been saying that all day since I saw it. I just have to get together the necessary 30 dollars and track one down.

These costumes are an affront to all the Wookiees out there attempting to flee Imperial persecution and lives of slavery.
