Just wondering, is it possible to convert a few seconds from an MPEG into a GIF, and what programs would I need to do this? Thanks.
i know that there is a program for that. i think it's called camouflage and it does exactly that, camouflages the files, but it doesn't change the file size. and people that receive your files will also need the program to change the file back to MPEG. I think the easiest thing to do would be juss to rename your file and change the extension from MPEG to GIF.
hmmm...I'm not sure if this will really answer your question but I'll try. I use Adobe Animation Shop. You just slipt the clips in there...sort out what you want and there you go...your own .GIF file. I used that to make my avatar Just one small note...make sure you don't split too many clips at the same time...only slipt (say) 100-150 (AT MOST) at a time...because it can sometimes crash...
Thanks for the help, I used Animation Shop to produce uh... something... XD It's quite a large file (1.4mb)...
I use Animation Shop Pro 7 (it came with Paint Shop Pro). I just open a few hundred frames of a mpeg, mess with the animation until I like it, then export it as a .gif
Again. Use animation shop. I think the files made with it cana be made into .GIF .PNG .MPEG....I'm not sure since I don't have it over here...but I'll check when I get home if you still can't find out.
you can also download Intervideo's "WinDVD" which lets you take captures of videos from the exact spot you want them by holding down "p" for the duration of the clip.
