Okay, i've never been a fan of hip-hop, but I love The Rising Tied. I've heard from a lot of people on this forum that underground hip-hop is way better then mainstream hip-hop, so I was wondering, can anyone reccomend me some good hip-hop artists?

Well, I think if you're more of a rock fan getting into hip-hop, you should definitely give The Roots a try. They use (mostly) live instrumentation,
and I'm sure you've heard of their MC Black Thought who, of course, guested on both Reanimation and The Rising Tied. He's also only one of the best rappers alive.![]()

Lupe Fiasco grew up hating rap music but he found out he could use it as a way to tell a story, that's what sets him apart from the rest. Not to mention he's brilliant.
I'd also recommend Little Brother, Aesop Rock, El-P, Nas, Any of the Demigodz, Atmosphere, Cage, Murs, and Styles of Beyond
Chamillionaire's new album "The Ultimate Victory" is awesome. Modern classic in my opinion.
Jurassic 5 is always a good fallback too. Very chill and laidback.
2pac. Everyone loves 2pac.

I pretty much only listen to rap.
Chamillionaire
Lupe Fiasco
Royce Da 5'9"
The Roots
Mos Def
Those are some of my favorites currently.
If you want some old school:
Biggie
2Pac
Rakim
KRS One
Wu-Tang
Bone Thugs
A Tribe Called Quest
Big L
Yeah.
Lupe Fiasco is definitely one of those rappers that people like when they don't really like hip hop or rap at all. (counts for me too)
Saul Williams
New album came out today. You can buy it on the website for $0 or $5.
It's produced by Trent Reznor (a.k.a. Nine Inch Nails) by the way...
Some of these have been mentioned already.
Beastie Boys (Pretty much the perfect hip-hop act for someone who doesn't usually listen to it)
Deltron 3030
Del Tha Funkee Homosapien
A Tribe Called Quest
The Roots
Pharoahe Monch
Aesop Rock
Public Enemy
J Dilla
DJ Shadow
Boogie Down Productions
MC Lars
Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Chamillionaire, Talib Kweli, Ghostface Killah are some of my faves. And of course the classics: Eminem, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Tupac.

I agree with anyone who said Saul Williams and Lupe Fiasco.
Saul Williams is more hip-punk-rock-whatever than hip hop, while Lupe is straight up hip hop.
Nas, Mos Def, Tupac, Kanye West.
For sure.
All of that were mentioned are good.
Here is a couple that I like:
Jedi Mind Tricks
Sean Price
If you like old school check out NWA, and yea you can't go wrong with lupe, kanye, dr dre, and eminem. You should also look for sneaky pete he's good as well
