Tom Delonge has releaved information about the new album of his band Angels And Airwaves. The whole article in Kerrang! All the hope I had left for a Blink reunion has been taken away by this interview. It looks like this is going to be another We Don't Need To Whisper. He also talks about Ryan Sinn leaving the band because of private issues. Matt Wachter (ex-30STM) quit his band and joined AVA as their new bass player. And his opinion on how +44 did Blink songs in their last few sets.
I think the last AAA album only had like 2-3 good songs on it. I think +44 are awesome. However both bands are completly shat on by Blink. Blink were and still are one of my favourite bands and I'd love to see them get back together at some point.
Tom is this one going to be "the best fucking album anybody has heard in 20 years"? Tom is a master at hyping up stuff for albums though even though it might but another album of mostly intros to the actual songs: Tom mentioned "We are building an operating system" When we launch this record, we'll also be launching a major piece of technology that will revolutionize mainstream America.
I personally only like a couple of songs by +44... but nothing is exactly horrible on their album, per say, it's just really "ehhhh." I like Angels & Airwaves album quite a bit, though, but you definitely have to be in the mood to listen to it -- can't really just play it any time.
He already is I'd say. Dammit, ever since blink broke up, i've been hoping for a reunion of some kind, but things really don't seem to have improved between DeLong and Hoppus do they? Bugger. Was Tom this much of a wanker when he was in blink? I don't remember very well.
I just hope that Tom's new album will be a flop so he will stop his band and realise he should be with Blink. Blink-182 ruled!
Fixed. Edit: Also, how many of you actually read the interview? On that topic, I think it sounds like he's gotten off his high horse, so to speak.
Well, everybody can have their opinion on who's better +44 or AVA, but saying it'll be as rock 'n rolls as it gets is still pretty cocky... you can hype your album, but the last one wasn't worth all the hyping and I'm not really expecting this to be worth it either. I was looking for some comments on the bassist switching, though. What do you guys think about Ryan Sinn leaving and Matt Wachter joining the band? And what about 30STM?
He didn't leave 30STM to be in AVA. He left because he didn't like the situation he was in, and then AVA had an opening. 30STM gave some reason why he quit which was BS, just like the excuses for when the first two guitarists (Kevin Drake and Solon Bixler) were both for "touring" reasons -- especially since Bixler is now in another band that's touring quite a bit.
