His first two discs, I contend, are lyrical masterpieces (and the music ain't bad either), but there was a definite change with TES and Encore; the songs had less meaning, or perhaps, even less impact.

Personally, I think Eminem is gone for good. And in some way, perhaps its for the best. At most, I enjoy his music now only to reminesce in my youthful ignorance.

I don't know if you knew this but his next album might be dropping in to the stores as soon as the next summer. :D
Can't wait for it to be honest.
About the lyrical impact - well. Encore's songs really weren't that meaningful, but now seeing Proof's death, Em's remarriage and redivorce :)F) he does indeed have a lot of shit to get off his chest.

I liked Eminem before he was black... (I don't mean that racially, by the way)

i hope so. encore was a disappointment to me, although it had its good tracks. i don't know if eminem will ever come with the same lyrical masterpieces as he did on the marshall mathers lp. em may never drop another album even. we'll just have to wait and see.

The fact he changed labels hopefully means a good change for him. I want Eminem's new lyrics to be quality..since he is apparently making a new album soon.

some things em had to say, i agree with. other things, not so well.
i think his music is recycled, but he had things to say.
that is different from most rappers out there who like to rap about ass and cars.

I found the work that he did on the re-up to be better than most of the stuff on Encore. Hopefully that carries over to his next album because he is one of the few rappers I even listen to anymore.
