In the spirit of (RED), am I creating a thread for people to post links to charities that they support and charities that mean a lot to them. With Inspi(RED) we have already gone a long way to alert people to the issue that is currently raging on in Africa. Hopefully through this thread we'll be able to spread awareness of other important charities that need your help and even, your donations.

    To start it off:

Out Of The Shadows - Worldwide Epilepsy Fund (official chairman - Amy Lee of Evanescence

This isn't on exactly the same level of importance, but here's one that I support:

Downhill Battle Peer-to-Peer Defense Fund - These guys raise money to help pay for legal costs that are incurred by people who are sued by the RIAA for downloading music.

I dont know if these guys are international or not,but the Starlight Childrens Foundation do amazing work in hospital and such, entertaining kids and generally brightening up there time while they're sick. I know these guys are awesome 'cos when i was a kid i was in hospital for a few months, and i would've gone insane without the Starlight people.

    Research Fellowships In Rare Diseases

As I mentioned a while back, my friend Jason Curry died because he caught Double Pneumonia. The Doctor's didn't know why or how he got it though, so they couldn't stop it. Then when he died and they did the autopsy they finally found out he had a very rare virus or disease of some sort that caused the Pneumonia (they didn't give a name I think) and that he really had no chance of surviving in the first place since they didn't have the technology or research to help that type of virus.

So yeah, I suggest donating to research for rare diseases. People need money for all the research we can get, no doubt about it.

I think children are the only people who could define happiness in the simplest way and can’t forget someone who treats them special.

    SPREAD AWARENESS.

A bit late from me, but whatever.

Recently we've had our Bi-Annual charity fest by the name of Red Nose Day, ran by Comic Relief.

These guys are dedicated to helping children in the UK and and abroad. Do something Funny for Money this year all in the name of charity:

For more information, along with the chance to donate see here

Ugh.. I simply have to mention them. The work they do really inspires and moves me.

Sophie was a girl that was murdered he in the UK for the fact that she was alternative or "goth" looking.

The foundation seeks to educate and promote a better understanding and tolerance of people in different subcultures and their right to express their individuality of who they are.

    http://tylerrobinsonfoundation.com

The Tyler Robinson Foundation begins with the story of Tyler – one of many heroes who chose not to let his prognosis dictate his outlook on life. At 16-yearsold, Tyler was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer. In the following year leading up to his passing, he was able to touch countless lives.

Those who knew Tyler were inspired by his courage, and his insistence on enjoying life and spreading happiness despite the physical and emotional strain of living with cancer. Determined to continue Tyler’s legacy of creating something positive despite the odds, his family and members of the band Imagine Dragons (who had grown close to Tyler) came together to create the Tyler Robinson Foundation. Below is Tyler’s own story, penned just a few months before his passing. Some people say that Tyler lost his battle with cancer, but we couldn’t disagree more. The real battle is not whether you live or die, but how you respond to the challenge.
