Some new info has been released on their new album which I'm really looking forward too. I guess so are some people on LPA.

I got this from a fan site but it says "tentative release date" ... so it isn't comfirmed yet. This should give an idea for when it's releasing though.

There's an interview with Chino on MTV.com too. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1528963/20060418/korn.jhtml?headlines=true

Plus you can find more info on their official site but it's not that detailed...

So what do you think ?

EDIT: This may be a bit early but an "aggressive" album sounds pretty good to me.

I'm not sure about Serj Tankian and the Deftones. Hopefully they can pull it off. Other than that, I'm looking forward to this album.

Yeah, me too. I read an piece of an interview about Serj Tankian as a guest appearance. He seems to fit that "aggressive" side of this album.

If he was included on a softer track (if there are any) doing harmony with Chino or something like that it would sound good. I'm not sure about the more agressive side of his vocals though, even if they're included on an agressive Deftones song.

    Producer: Bob Ezrin

Wow, I had no idea that guy was still around, he's been producing for a LONG time.

Probably. I wouldn't mind another song like Lucky You on the last album.

Like all Deftones albums I think they'll have certain songs sounding like some of their previous ones but I don't really mind. Stephen Carpenter is a really original guitarist he'll make it sound different.

They had some problems with Bob Erzin, though. They were recording in his home studio in Canada where Chino started blaming him,Canada,... for why it wasn't working out.
Chino did his side project called Team Sleep.
Then Deftones went to Malibu to record. In Malibu it turned out fine.
I guess that's how it all happened but I don't really know any details.

As long as the album isnt an hour full of moans and whines and incomprehensible lyrics it just..JUST might be good.

Judging by that statement I'd be surprised if you'd actually listened to a full Deftones album.

Yah I think Derek has some issue with the Deftones. But I liked the Deftones and after seeing thme like at the taste of chaos tour my opinion of them has only solidified that these guys are fucking awesome. 7 Words and Passenger are 2 of my favorite songs.

I read an interview from a month or two ago that Chino said that it was going to sound like White Pony in terms of diversity. He said the heavy songs would be some of the heaviest they have ever done while there will be some softer more melodic songs. Nevertheless I'm excited for the album and waiting for it to drop.
