it is not that great, holy mountain is just awesome and so is vicinity of obscenity.
I dont know. Hypnotize is a cool song but I dont like the album.

I'm the opposite. I was dissapointed when I heard Hypnotize, but I have to say, hearing the rest of the songs on the album I might just have to buy this.
When I first heard Mezmerize I thought "What is this trash?". I gave it a few more listens and now I love it. I'm hoping the same thing will happen with Hypnotize. The song, I like. Vicinity Of Obscenity... I can't get that out of my headIt's by far the best song on the album and also better than any songs on Mezmerize; just.
I love both albums.
Although at the moment, Hypnotize > Mesmerize only because I've been listening to H a lot more.
Since from what I've read, Hypnotize and Mezmerize are a set. So my question is, which one comes first in the set? Like, I understand they're not really concept albums, persay. But which one is meant to be listened to first?
I assumed Hypnotize, because the last song is Soldier Side, which (at least on my version) is the first song (Soldier Side/Intro) for Mezmerize.
If I'm just talking crazy, please tell me, because I know nothing about System of a Down.

Mezmerize is supposed to be listened first. The Soldier Side on Hypnotize is supposed to serve as a way of ending the two-album set.

I just listened for the first time to Mezmerize, and it wasn't too bad, surprisingly. Now I'm listening to Hypnotize, and so far, pretty good.
Mesmerize was better.

Mesmerize is a better cd, but Hypnotize is still blazing.
...am I the only one that noticed that in both CD's they've started off the album strong, then ended it off slow?
They are both ok albums, they will never beat toxicity I dont think

Hypnotize it's the best SOAD album for me ... it has the power of self-titled and toxicity , and the melodies of Steal This Album and Mezmerize ... Soldier Side it's an AWESOME song ..makes me cry ... Dreaming , Lonely Day and Vicinity Of Obscenity are all good songs too .... the full album it's awesome .. i'm hypnotized ...
