Hello all, I am currently planning on moving to the states for about 2 years. I have been reading up on what I need to do, but nothing seems to be helping. I know that for an extended stay of more then 180 days, a visa is required. I have TRIED filling out a visa application online 3 TIMES, but each time I tried printing it my computer froze and I couldn't finish the process. And yes, I have tried on more then one computer. The American Embassy here in Toronto is all but helpful, everything costs money. I need help and/or ideas because I plan on moving this christmas. Thanks for any and all help. Ps. I'm Canadian
I'd stay in Canada. Why not try to get a paper visa application? It might take longer, but you'll be able to fill it out without anything freezing.
I'd stay in Canada. There aren't very many nice places in the States and, even if you find a nice place, you've got to deal with the crazy government. And Arnold.
Seriously, stay in Canada. You'll thank yourself in the end. If you don't like Toronto move to BC, I heard it's awesome there. Just don't move to Winnipeg [unless you like long winters. <_<]
You guys are giving this guy a hard time, no offense. If you really want to live in America for a while, go ahead. You may like it, you never know. Canada beats America by a long shot, but opportunites can still be found here in the states, don't get me wrong.
America is awsome! you might wanna come down here! it's great, the tax is actuly lower then 10 percent! Health care is abit expensive, but nothing they cant fix! Seriouse, this place is great, i think you should try vistiting here for a month or two
stay in canada man once i graduate high school i am going back to europe to visit my family. i am a us citizen and have lived here all my life but europe is so beautiful
What have you been smoking latley? Stay in Canada, I'd give anything to live up there. [/b][/quote] Nothing you should know of Seriousely though, America isnt as bad as everyone say's
Not to sound rude, but it seems like there's a lot of teen angst in this thread. I like how everyone gave him the exact opposite advice that he was asking for. Question: what purpose are you moving for? It really shouldn't be too hard to fill out the required forms and find out information about what it takes to move to America. You can probably even go to your local government (city government or whatever) and get the information that you need -- the American Embassy can help you, sure, and if you're really wanting to move that much, just pay whatever they ask (as long as it's resonable). I mean, you're moving, it's going to cost you quite a bit of money anyways.
Everybody seems to be telling me to stay in Canada, and I would stay; but my fiancee lives down south, and instead of being apart, I'd rather move down there till she finishs school.
Or you just haven't realized it yet. I'd like to congratulate you on your engagement Ecks, and I wish you luck in America!
LOL Texas That's funny, cuz my fiancee lives in Oklahoma, and the whole college football rivalry thing is really serious down there. So, she's not a fan of Texas. /m\
I guess this is a good time to mentio its because of LP that I am in love with this girl today. About 4 years ago I met her in an msn chat room for LP fans, and since then we were net buddies. Over time I talked to her more and more until I went down to go see her. It was awesome being with her for that 2 weeks, but then I had to go. 2 weeks later she came to see me and I asked her to marry me. Thought some of you might like to know that.
