Are You Gonna Be My Girl? -- Jet Cover

I heard on www.forfeitthegame.com that LP sang Are You Gonna Be My Girl at one of their concerts.

Is it true? And if it is, does anybody have like a mp3 of it or something?

if they did i'd love to hear it. Its not really a Jet cover because they covered it from another band.

That's a picture of Mike doing the Are You Gonna be My Girl? cover. I forget which show this was at, it was either the St. Paul, MN show on the Meteora World Tour or it was at one of the 2003 holiday radio shows besides KROQ Almost Acoustic Xmas. Basically from what I hear, is Chester and the other LP guys dared Mike to run out on stage after their encore break (wearing the clothes that Jet's drummer did in their video) with his guitar and play some of the song and sing the first line of it, and then Chester sang some more of it from backstage. The best part was that Mike left that outfit on for the whole encore, I have another picture of him sitting behind the piano on My December with that outfit on, plus goggles.

This really did happen, but nobody recorded the show(s) they did it at. = no mp3 exists.

Anyways, nice pic. It would've sounded awesome though.

Maybe they'll do something like that if they tour Australia again. If they are, I'm going, just in case.

*Edit* Blah I think that pic is stretching the forums...I made it smaller but if I make it any smaller than I have it'll start looking like crap with the compression...if it's a problem I'll take it down....actually according to the rules it says the limit is "around 525 pixels in width" and this is 558...close enough, lol.

i saw this show. it was the january 31st show at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Minnesota for the Meteora World Tour. i was wondering when people talked about covers theyve performed, they never mentioned this song. But they did play "are you gonna be my girl". i was there. and those images you have up are the correct ones from the show. that is exactly what it looked like. mike came out in the outfit (goggles and all) for that song, numb, breaking the habit, my december and crawling i believe.. not 100% sure on the songs or the order but it was during the "encore" where they went into their slower songs.

the song reminded me of their GNR Sweet Child O Mine song they did back in 2001.. they didnt play the whole "are you gonna be my girl" song.. it was about half of it.. it sounded good but it wasnt anything special.. chester didnt really add any flavor to it..

haha no.. maybe i would have done something if i would have known they were only gonna play it at that show but theres no way i could have known.. i bet there's someone out there that did record it.. over 15,000 people were there.. they probably just dont check out forums and stuff like that to see that there is a huge demand for this song.. im still surprised they only played it at our show in minnesota.. that amazes me.. its kinda cool but im sure theyve done something unique at a bunch of events too..
