    The bar at the bottom of my desktop- the one with start on has gone! I think it is called the taskbar? It has dissapeared completely. Does anyone know how to get it back?

    Have you tried restarting your computer?

    oh, i know.

    D'you notice a slight line on the bottom of your screen? Even if you dont, just move your mouse to the bottom of the screen till it doesnt go anymore and then click+drag upwards. That should show the taskbar. And to prevent doing that again, right click your taskbar and click 'Lock the Taskbar'.
