I changed it because 30 seconds is too long and some members were complaining.

The small updates you are seeing around LPA (i.e. the font change and small cosmetic changes on the main page) as well as Will's edits to the forum (the new 15 second wait) are our efforts to make this site more appealing to the visitors who visit here frequently.
I must say I really like Alex's little flash thing on the front page. I used to think it looked awkward but now I love it.
The LPA is self funded and does not host advertising on our front page. Therefore all server costs/maintenance fees are paid out of our own pockets to keep this site available to our visitors and to keep down times to a minimum. Please consider helping with our hosting costs by donating a few dollars ($5, $10, $15 - anything) through the button below. Your support and help with the site will be greatly appreciated.

Uh, dunno if my opinion counts for much, but am I the only one in thinking we need a new skin for the board?
Is 15 Minutes the only setting for active users?
