Emo/art rockers "Dredg" have just recorded a new album to follow up their 2002 masterpiece "El Cielo" and will be releasing it late 2004/early 2005. The rumoured title is "Coquette", but it is not confirmed yet. Their unique style blends emo and alternative with a bit of jazz and progressive stylings. Think (light) Tool meets Coldplay with a bit of emo thrown in Demos off the new album can be found here:Dredg Demos The band warns that these aren't the actual album versions and so I would say if you like the sound of these also check some of their other stuff from their other two albums. Some favourites are: "Of the Room", "Penguins in the Desert", "Lechium", "Sanzen", and "Same Ol' Road".
Dredg owns, I recommend them to anyone interested in emo bands, but are willing to get more advanced, experimental, and complex music with the likes of progressive roots
Yay! New Dredg! I haven't heard their album, but I liked a few of their songs (including "Same Ol Road"). Yay!
