Edit: Oh dear, I meant to put this in Random Chat. Sorry! Move as you please. Hello LPA! Today marks a year from the day I began lurking here (in the forums themselves, I've been reading LPA news since waaaaay back in the pre-MTM days)! Feel free to take this down if you wish, but I just wanted to tell everyone here that they are awesome. I've joined many, many forums: about a half dozen forums devoted to bands, half a dozen devoted to videogames, and one pop culture forum. As I'm sure many of you know, the internet out there is a not-so-friendly place, and unfortunately I've had the experience to back it up. Why am I telling you all this? Because in my social experience online, there have been exactly two communities that I felt were warmly welcoming, that dealt with each of its members with respect and maturity, and that was just downright friendly: one was DreamTheaterForums.org, and the other is you guys. Seriously guys, thanks for being awesome. I may not feel yet as though I'm an integral part of the community (I mean I've only been here a year; I've been a proud member of the DTF community for around four), but already I feel as though I belong. It just goes to show, Linkin Park fans are awesome, and this forum is representative of that fact. So here's to the year I've been here, and many more to come!
Congrats! I agree with you, this is a great forum. How do you remember the date when you started lurking on here?
Congrats. You should stop lurking and start posting though. Just kidding. Whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Because a year ago today is when I got home from college for the year and I remember that's when I started getting really excited about the impending ATS release. I couldn't contain myself anymore and decided to dig into the forum itself.
Thanks for your support! We certainly saw a lot of new faces with the ATS release, and it's good to see that some of them have stuck around. Hope you continue to post here!
Yeah I know I'm not a very committed poster here. I do drop in frequently though, I just tend to listen more than I speak. However, I'm sure with time you'll see more of me.
