I never played any of the Halo. I always wanted! It looks very cool! but never have time. The university consumes me as fucking. Besides the work.
Can't wait for this game. I played halo 2 nearly every day leading up until halo 3 where I played it ferociously and then got disappointed with ODST and Reach. Happy we get to see more of the Chief.
So... Now that the game's been out for over a week, what are your thoughts on it? How did you like the story? How is multiplayer working out for you?
I have been adapting well to Halo 4's Multiplayer. I started my first play through with Legendary dificulty. It made finishing the game much more rewarding. I like the changes that they've made. Also, I'm REALLY glad that they did away with the invulnerabiliy load out that they had in Reach. I'm a vehicle guy. Especially in a ghost. Really happy that my pre-Reach skills are coming back with that.
343 really screwed over the machinima community. In theater mode, it comes up on the screen when someone dies. Even when the HUD is off. When you lower your weapon, it automatically raises when you walk, and when you crouch. Also, custom games doesn't have as much options as Reach or Halo 3. It's really limited. They NEED to fix Halo 4 custom games and the weapon lowering. Machinima is one of the funnest aspects of Halo
I thought the campaign was really strong, although I haven't played much about multiplayer so I can't judge that. I do wish the campaign had had a more diverse selection of weapons though. I felt SO limited when I knew that the previous three releases had a lot of really awesome Cov weapons.
I didn't know about that... I hope they fix it. I liked how they made you be more inventive with what you had. Also, the effects of the Promethian weapons were fucking awesome, both on the gun assembly and the particle disintegration deaths.
I love the first time you pick up a Light Rifle. The way it forms in your hand slowly. Also, how far are you on Legendary, Knights are ridiculously powerful on legendary. Hard as shit.
I completed it. It took me 16 hours and 20 mins to beat the Campaign on Legendary. I refused to play any other game type until I played through the campaign atleast once. Unluckily for all of my friends who wanted me to jump on some War Games or Spartan Ops, I did my first run through alone on Legendary.
I tried playing Heroic by myself, and I couldn't even do that. I got to the part where you're trying to stop the Didact and you're supposed to cross the bridge with banshees flying in the air and a ton of enemies around, and I just rage quit. Had to get my friend to help me complete the rest. Props to you.
A good point, but I missed the excitement factor when you were introduced to a totally new weapon in the middle of the game and go, "Ooooh, what does this one do?" I just got bored of the weapons after a while.
Thanks! I was actually looking forward to the new weaponry. I think the majority of people's bordom lies with the fact that there are no surprises to the new weapons. What I mean by that was there was so many ViDocs and videos up before the game came out that anyone researching the game knew exactly what they were getting. I kept alot of those spoilers at arms length. Yes, there wasn't a huge arsenal of Promethian weapons, but, when I was in a bind, I knew exactly what the weapons I had were capable of. I didn't feel overwhelmed and I think that is a good thing. I totally agree with you. Neil Davidge did a phenomenal job on the score. It really is an amazing piece.
