Coming from the Green Day forum it's safe to say that even some die hard GD fans (like myself) are pretty dissappointed with "Oh Love." However I'm not totally crushed by it; I mean come on they're releasing 3 albums, there's gonna be some filler. (Plus if we go off of the last 2 albums, the first single has been one of the weakest tracks on the album)
I'll take one solid record over three with a handful of decent songs. And the lyric video song is boring.
That Oh, Love song ain't a good prospect for the new album. Been there, done that much? Don't get me wrong, I love Green Day. I liked AI quite a lot and well, I liked 21st.. I guess. But their current sound is getting pretty damn old
Seriously, I know the way their singer sounds is supposed to be, like, something weird, but that just sounds horrible.
Oh. Alrighty then. Anyway yeah, for whatever reason thee guys need to cut the shit. I've been a fan for ages, but Christ.
A lot of the new tracks don't sound too bad, even if you don't like Oh Love. Here are some: And here's a full concert recording where they played a lot of the new tracks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLOELjpT4g4
Didn't like the new song. But I hated Know Your Enemy and the album has many good songs, so I still have a small hope
http://www.altpress.com/aptv/video/video_premiere_green_day_let_yourself_go Oh God, so much better than the other song. I'm excited again!
It's much better than Oh Love, but still not amazing. Sounds like one of the less great American Idiot cuts. And I can't help but be taken aback by hard very hard they're all trying to keep up the "punk rocker" thing. But still, a massive improvement.
5 bucks says they intended to play "Oh, Love" but Billie's baby beard prevented such a thing from happening, and Let Yourself Go came out instead. Yeah, that's annoying. All kinds of little "this is a punk song!" nuances plague the song. Feels like something that they'd be able to churn out on a Tuesday morning. But it's a triple album. So there's going to be at least 15 songs that are going to be on the same level.
This song is a relief but I'm still not getting my hopes up. I mean 3 albums, there's bound songs on the same line as oh love. And now that I think about it, green day can be pretty repetitive so a trilogy on there probably wasn't the best idea.
