Via twitter and a newly-launched web page, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block has announced the return of the Toonami programming block on May 26th, 2012. This news comes in advance of Adult Swim's upfront this Wednesday evening and weeks after "Toonami on Adult Swim" aired on April 1st as a joke. Afterward Adult Swim posted a "Want it back? Let us know." message on twitter, prompting a weeks-long campaign in support of the block on social media.

First launched on Cartoon Network in March 17, 1997, the original Toonami block was dedicated to airing a variety of action animation. The popular block ran regularly on weekday afternoons and later Saturday nights, until its final broadcast on September 20, 2008. Stay tuned to Toonzone News for more information about this story and the Adult Swim upfront as it becomes available.

Update, 9:08 PM: A press release from Adult Swim includes the following description of the new Toonami block:

"TOONAMI - Beginning Saturday, May 26, Adult Swim brings back Toonami, the network's popular block of anime programming. Airing weekly from midnight to 6 a.m. (ET/PT), in addition to the return of previous series featured in Toonami, Adult Swim is also developing new original anime programming for fans."

Researchers in Japan have smashed the record for wireless data transmission in the terahertz band, an uncharted part of the electro-magnetic spectrum. The data rate is 20 times higher than the best commonly used wi-fi standard.

As consumers become ever more hungry for high data rates, standard lower-frequency bands have become crowded.

The research, published in Electronics Letters, adds to the idea that this "T-ray" band could offer huge swathes of bandwidth for data transmission.

The band lies between the microwave and far-infrared regions of the spectrum, and is currently completely unregulated by telecommunications agencies.

Despite the name, the band informally makes use of frequencies from about 300 gigahertz (300GHz or about 60 times higher than the current highest wi-fi standard) to about 3THz, 10 times higher again.

It is used principally for imaging in research contexts, as terahertz waves penetrate many materials as effectively as X-rays but deposit far less energy and therefore cause less damage.

Until recently, the technology required both to generate and detect these "T-rays" has been too bulky, costly or power-hungry to offer a plausible alternative to existing devices tucked within smartphones or wi-fi routers.

That looks set to change; in November electronic component firm ROHM demonstrated a 1.5Gb/s (1.5 billion bits per second) transfer rate at a frequency of 300GHz. Terahertz wi-fi would probably only work over ranges of about 10m, but could in theory support data rates up to 100Gb/s - close to 15 times higher than the next-generation 802.11ac wi-fi standard that is under development.

The new work, by researchers from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, demonstrated 3Gb/s transmission at 542GHz.

At the heart of the team's 1mm-square device is what is known as a resonant tunnelling diode, or RTD.

Tunnelling diodes have the unusual characteristic that the voltage across them can sometimes go down as current is increased. RTDs are designed such that this process makes the diode "resonate", which in the current work's design means it sprays out waves in the terahertz band. The team is now working to improve their proof-of-principle device and extend its range deeper into the terahertz regime, as well as increasing its power output.

inspired by many parody writers like minus and Sarah i made my own parody... hope you like it :awesome:

Burn it down/ burger and the ketchup

The burger sauce depleted
As the ketchup broke in my hands
All that I needed
Was the ketchup in the burger
And it was there in my hand
Ready to be squeezed in the burger

We’re filling it up
To squeeze it back down
We’re filling it up
To squeeze it down
We can’t wait for the ketchup to reach the burger

The mustard conflicted
As the grease climbed down to the bun
I wanted to fix this
But couldn’t stop from lessening the fat
And it was there in my hand
Ready to be squeezed in the burger

We’re filling it up
To squeeze it back down
We’re filling it up
To squeeze it down
We can’t wait for the ketchup to reach the burger

You told me no
You said I could buy
And I believed when you let me fry
I played cooker
You played king
Struck me down when I could not bring
You lost that right to hold that crown
I gave you the burger but you gave me a frown
So when I’m manager I take my turn
And eat the burgers as the ketchup’s burn

And it was there in my hand
Ready to be squeezed in the burger

We’re filling it up
To squeeze it back down
We’re filling it up
To squeeze it down
We can’t wait for the ketchup to reach the burger

(UPDATED - WE HAVE ADDED A NEW TRACK TO THE DEMO: BLEED IT OUT/NIGGAS IN PARIS, CHECK IT OUT!)
Hey Guys! This is an EXTREME ROUGH DRAFT of our project for Jay-Z & Linkin Park Collision Course 2. This was produced by Stephen Farro and Stephen Jackson. This project was done with very basic and limiting equipment but we got enough of the job done. If we get enough demand and likes for the project, the project can be made with professional equipment. ALSO, there is ONE MORE TRACK to this album.... Waiting For The End/Empire State Of Mind, but we can only get it done and release it if there is enough support and likes for this album because it needs to be done with live vocals and use some better equipment to achieve what we have planned for the track (It's going to be really big). Our hope is to get this in Jay-Z and Linkin Park's hands to see if they would be willing to collaborate with us and make this album for real, it'd be a dream come true, so help us and spread this around to everyone you know, and let's get this heard! If not, we still want this spread around and getting this on peoples' Ipods and Mp3s cause the most important thing was we made this for others to enjoy. So enjoy and please spread the word!
(REMINDER: these tracks are rough drafts, and serve solely as just outlines to the format the real re-dubbed songs would follow, so please excuse some poor quality in a few areas)

Lyrics:

(Glitched Chorus)

//

I'm stuck in this bed you made
Alone with a sinking feeling
I saw through the words you said
To the secrets you've been keeping
It's written upon your face
All the lies how they cut so deeply
You can't get enough you take
And take and take and never say

No / you've gotta get it inside
You push it back down / You push it back down No / you'll never get it inside Push it back down Black out Blood in your eye

You say that it's not your fault
And swear that I am mistaken
You said it's not what it seems
No remorse for the trust you're breaking You run but then back you fall Suffocate in the mess you're making You can't get enough you take And take and take and take and take Fuck it Are you listening?

No / you've gotta get it inside
You push it back down / You push it back down No / you'll never get it inside Push it back down / You push it back down No / you've gotta get it inside You push it back down / You push it back down No / you'll never get it inside Push it back down Black out Blood in your eye

Floating down / as colors fill the light We look up from the ground / in fields of paperwhite And floating up / you pass us in the night A future gazing out / a past to overwrite So come down / far below We've been waiting to collect the things you know Come down / far below We've been waiting to collect what you've let go

Come down oh
Come down oh
Come down oh
I'm stuck in this bed you made
Alone with a sinking feeling (feeling)

At Rise: The sun comes up over Lincoln City, with a warm blue and orange glow. Birds chirp, but there are no sounds yet of city life. There is an outdoor market, surrounded by natural growing Dahlia’s. There is one giant one, perky and demands attention on the set named DONALD. QUINN enters, carrying two large book bags. Her nose is in a book as she is muttering to herself.

QUINN (Looks up from the book)
Ascending aorta, left coronary, right coronary, left intervent… inter-ventricular branch… common…. Cold… no no… ummm… crap. I should have gone into art. Okay… umm… Ascending aorta, left coronary, common hepatic… no that was last weeks…. (She mouths several words to herself, but can’t seem to find the right word) Why do I need to know all this to shove a needle in someone’s butt….

(QUINN passes DOLAND. She stops
and gives it a dirty look)

QUINN
You. Again. Really what do you have to be smug about Donald? You’re just a giant Dahlia. That’s nothing to get excited about. They should cut you down so that people walking by can actually see that it’s an market! Sure. You’re pretty. Not that anyone really notices, but me of course. But that doesn’t help you much does it? You’re just there taking up space. I’m trying to do something with my short time here. And guess what? I got a lot more time than you do. How do you feel about that? (Pause) Now you’re just trying to make me feel bad. Pretty things have no place in life if all they do is just sit there looking pretty. Not in the grand scheme of things anyways.

(Pause, she thinks. As she thinks MAX enters carrying meat, mostly fish. He works, not paying much attention to
her.)

QUINN
I… I guess I do see your side of things. You are kind of like me… no one to talk to… can’t talk to anyone… but yourself. But I’m not a loser, I’m not! See, a is as a no good person who doesn’t do anything but make life hard for others. I just don’t matter. But I’m trying! And besides, I don’t have time to do anything anyways. Too much school. Trying to figure out what all this… stuff means. I mean, like this. Ascending aorta. Ascending? Why is it ascending? I guess I should really know this by now, but why can’t it just be called the thing… that helps pass the thing to the other thing? It’s the same principal. But no. We got to give it complicated names cause some higher up smarty pants, with doctorates, are in love with a dead language! Just like you! Don’t you wish someone still spoke druid? Uh?... guess that means you couldn’t understand what I’m saying to you.. but since you’re a flower… you can’t anyways… wow.. That… kinda makes me sound a little crazy doesn’t it? Thanks a lot Donald!
