View Full Version : Topic and suggestions of the debate
Hey all,
This is a follow on from the last topic (click here (http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=12&t=10476&st=0&#entry297596))
Firstly, thanks to those who supported my idea, and to Derek who approved the idea.
The debate will be on one topic and one topic only per each debate and i want to make the topic as user chosen as possibble so im starting this poll to get an idea of what you guys would like to discuss with others.
The poll options may seem very closed and very broard when you read them in the poll and you may think "erm not much we can say about that" but theres lots that can be said about each, i`ll start the debate (when it happens) with some pointers and we`ll get started and explore other factors of that topic.
If your desired topic aint in the poll please do post it in here, even if its already posted post it again so i can see how many people want that one.
Also, it is about what you want, but what you dont want is also an issue, if there is a topic above or that you can think of that you wholeheartedly do not want discussed for personal reasons or just find upsetting, please do say.
Also discuss anything else regarding this debate :)
I propose to hold the debate this coming friday which i belive is the 21st of May, fridays are always the best nights for debates as more people are on, if you are afriad of missing it, dont be, it wont be strictly timed as that would be unfair on those who are in different timezones.
If this debate is a success it could be aweekly thing?
Vote and Post away :)
(could this be pinned?)

I went with the influences of multimedia on our society, because many peoples views on this topic are skewed.
Do we really need this? I mean, if people want to talk about something, they'll talk about it. This is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I mean, if they want to talk about something, they'll find a thread and post in it if it exists, or they'll make a new one. There isn't a need for this. But, then again, no one ever listens to me.
Respect your opinion Will, but give it a chance please :)

Sorry Will, i do respect your opinion an all, but, dont you think you are being a tad childish, I mean saying "No one ever listens to me" that is complete rubbish. You are an Admin people always listen to you.
Personally i think its a great idea. But thats my opinion.
I say we debate more important topics, for instance:
Win or Mac?
McDonalds or Burger King or Taco Bell?
Coca Cola or Pepsi or water?
Mary Kate or Ashley Olsen?

You may be right Will, but the last line is pretty much crap--weather you realize it or not, you're one of the most listened to and respected people here.
Censorship or violent videogames and their affects on kids.
I've done research reports on both and have extreme anti-censorship views, so I'm up for a good debate :P

You forgot our triple threat match: PS2 Vs. Xbox Vs. GC :P
I voted for that videogame impact and stuff thingie. And yeah, i agree with Will. What's the difference if you just post these as normal threads in this forums? And don't forget that some, such as racism or War on iraq have their own threads and have been discussed thousands of times.

I do. I take everything you say into consideration. :)
I agree. If people want to debate, they'll make a thread. There's no use getting people worked up and offended over certain topics just for the sake of having a debate. I think that after awhile, everyone will be fighting with everyone else. Wouldn't turn out so good .
Katie, if sexuality was chosing it wouldnt be about `sex` it`d be about same sex sex etc..
Ok neil but you are merely repeating what others have said, can people please stop your spamming the topic if you think about it, if you dont like the idea, dont join in.

in all seriousness, that is actually an excelent topic because of health issues, about how the makers of coke are treated as if in a sweat shop and such, but of course, the taste aspect would be pointless ;)
And to Willy Boy: I don't like you much, but people do listen to you and are greatly influenced by your thoughts and opinions.

Do we seriously have to make this so formal?
And aren't all the topics listed for the poll already discussed?
