As reported first to the Linkin Park Association by Trumtram via the Linkin Park Underground, the title of Linkin Park's new album is "Meteora" and is set to be released on March 24th internationally and March 25th in the United States. Suspence will build all the way up until those two days when Linkin Park will own all of music with their new album.

it's pronounced : mee-tee-or-ah, i think.

maybe it's deepness is hidden, although the name has no specific meaning on the exterior, it's interior meaning means something cool.

put the pronounciation could be that u have to roll the r... sounds strange but if u've ever learned spanish u would know what i mean ;). but it depends on what they mean, is it american then ur pronounciation is right. but if they mean the original meteora place in greece then it is probably my pronounciation above <_<

And the thing where the Entertainment people or somethin, they said it will bring more success than Hybrid Theory. That's hard to believe since Hybrid Theory went 8 platinum. It will be so cool when the critics that say LP are a one album wonder see Meteora go over 10 platinum. That would be great.

And this is to anyone who reads this-No One has the songs yet, no one is going to have MP3's or any other format of any of the new songs. The only people right now who have the real CD and/or the songs are Linkin Park themselves. So please dont bother making a thread, or asking for the songs, its not gonna happen because they "dont exist" (in a matter of speaking). The first song your going to hear will probably be 'Somewhere I Belong', seeing as its the first single. Then Linkin Park will probably release 1 or 2 more around the beginning of March.

Youre right... but I have heard some music samps... only music no lyrics or titles but that was a while back ago... summer 2002. And I have no clue what its going to be like now, cant wait though. Also for those who are wondering I got this off of LPU for the meaning about Meteroa.
Brad- what does Meteora mean to Linkin Park and how did you come up with the name? What is the pronunciation of the name?

Actually we were touring in Europe and inside the bus the bus driver had set down a travel magazine that was actually featuring this place called Meteora, and just looking at the pictures of this larger than life place- we were inspired to try to write sonically what those pictures conveyed visually. That was before we had even written the body of the album, so it actually inspired us to create on tape what we were seeing visually.
Meteora is a chain of monasteries in Greece that sit on top of incredible rock formations- it’s a really unbelievable place. The title does not have to do with the music in a literal sense- but can be used as a metaphor – the grandeur of it, and the timelessness of it, are all conveyed quite well on our album.
Actually some of the guys hadn’t even seen the pictures of this place yet- they had just heard the name, but they were all drawn to it just by the energy of the name.

True, true. But I think its starting to go fast for me. I've been here waiting since the 80 day mark, and almost 20 days have gone by. I think my only thing that helps me wait is this website. News pops up almost every other day and keeps me satisfied. Although news is slow right now, I think something big is around the corner. LP is being kind of quiet right now. I hope they do the same for 'Somewhere I Belong' as they did with 'One Step Closer', release it about 2 months before the actual release date. I really think February 2nd, is a possible date for the single. Since they're done shooting for the video, it will take about two weeks which puts us right around that date of Feb. 2nd.

I'm serious i just have a gut feeling i mean it might not surpass Hybrid Theory because i believe in my opinion that is one of the best Hybrid albums to have ever been produced... After all that's been occurring over the last few days, I have a better state of mind now. I've been wanting to hear the album now, and see all of the new stuff, like LPTV. But, then after thinking about Meteora for a while, I thought to myself. 'Wouldn't it be better just to wait it out and not listen to the album until its released?' Man time has actually went by pretty fast since they announced the CD date. I remember when it used to be like over 60 days. Time i think also went faster since they released SIB.

Why is it on Ice Magazine that they say Meteora clocks one minute longer than Hybird theory. They said that Meteora is 36:30 in length, but those two statements don't make sense.

i just went back on what i said guys, i am listening to meteora as i post this, and no spoilers, but i am on song 7 so far, so far i have to say, OH MY GOD!!! hybrid theory has nothen on this album thus far. note, i have bought the album, so i am only inpationt, not cheap, lol

i just finished listening to the cd, and i must say that is freaking amazing and perfect! everything i want in a cd, it's so damn heavy too! and chesters screams are much more frequent and great!

i totally agree with you LPFan! What a perfect album!

And I hear people saying that it sounds too much like Hybrid Theory. Lying From You? Hit The Floor? Faint? Breaking the Habit? From The Inside? Nobody's Listening? those are the songs in particular which I can say aren't similar at all to Hybrid Theory! On top of this, they sound so much more mature! And in some spots on Hybrid Theory, I thought some tracks were weaker than others on the album (Points of Authority and Runaway). If I had to pick two on this album, it would be: SIB and Hit the Floor!!!!!! Two freakin amazing songs. All of these songs are classics, great work LP....I think it'll be platinum within a week or LESS!
