At least some provinces in Canada have accepted the gay marriage thing. Maybe if other countries see that it works out fine they'll think about it and begin to accept it.

First of all... MCAS can go to hell. It's stupid us Massachusettians have to pass it to graduate.

And Mitt Romney is a moron. I don't like him. And it's stupid that we won't be able to get married if we want. I'm bisexual, and this is absurd! American is the UNITED states of america... home of the FREE. And aren't we NOT supposed to mix church with state? So, therefore, personal beliefs shouldn't play a role in this. It should be about what is the best for the community. It's like that gay-only high school. *shudder*

Once and for all, 5 reasons why gay marriages should not be banned:

1. Our society should be encouraged that two people, regardless of race or gender, are so in love that they're ready to commit themselves to each other for life.

2. The whole "gays are not natural" argument is stupid and should be shot to pieces. Nature allows males and females to have intercourse and reproduce. Nature does not dictate love and emotions. Gays marry because they love each other. So screw this argument. It's irrelevant anyhow. On a side note, certain species of animals in nature engage in homosexual activities so that shoots another hole in the argument.

3. Theoretically, America is the land of freedom. Marriage is a civil right, and everybody should be entitled to that right, whether they're black or white, male or female, gay or straight.

4. There is separation of church and state in America. Since we are dealing with the legality of gay marriages, the words "God", "church" or "Bible" should not be used to back up people's argument no matter how religious they are. If all politicians were allowed to make decisions based on their prejudices and religious biases, they would be alienating all those who don't share their beliefs. Bush's Bible-backed stance on gay marriages means nothing to an atheist.

5. Legalizing gay marriage could lead to even more openness, tolerance and understanding. It gives couples a sense of stability, commitment, and all that jazz that straight married couples are already familiar with.

I was at another message board, and they were discussing (read: arguing) homosexual marriages (I refuse to use the word ’’gay’’ to describe homosexuals anymore) and someone had the best reason as to why homosexual marriages should not be banned:

Just because these people have different sexual preferences does not mean that we should take away their basic rights of freedom.

Thank you, good night.

The problem in the actual american society is that she's based on opposite thoughts. If you want the people to like you, you have to be white, heterosexual, open minded and catholic. Now the problem is that if you're open minded about homosexual weddings, people will tell you that you're not a real catholic. But if you're against homosexual weddings, people will tell you don't respect the human chart of right and liberties or simply their freedom. So no matter what will the final decision of this debate be, the one person who'll take it will not be able to please a big amount of people.

In fact, I think America is at the point where she must choose which is most important: religion, or reason?

By the way, the argument the person gave on that other board is reallllllly intelligent, Will!

What does respecting people's basic rights have to do with being a "real Catholic"? A real Catholic doesn't have to agree with homosexuality. Neither is he or she forced to take part in a gay marriage. All they have to do is acknowledge the fact that all human beings are entitled to the same rights, regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.
