Its chaz
but wat made you think it was phoenix because he was on tour with the snax when hybrid theory was being recorded (Thats why he's not in the album booklet) ^_^ and therfor that even him playin bass wen u listen 2 HT its a dude filling in for him

And I agree with Mark's theory. Paperbags are used for hyperventilating which you do when your angry or nervous or excited...
isnt it just a guitar effect? :wth:

From the top to the bottom
Bottom to top I stop
At the core, I’ve forgotten
In the middle of my thoughts
Taken far from my safety
The picture’s there
The memory won’t escape me
(whoohah) But why should I care?

It was Brad. He played all of the bass for HT. What he's talking about is when they toured without Phe. That had "some dude".

It's vocals, believe me. I have a clip of Joe repeating the "HOO-AH" live 100 times while Chester sings some random garbage. Yes the guitar has a high pitched note during that part but there is a definete vocal sample which is what everyone is talking about.

Oh my goodness, cannot believe we are having a fat off debate about this! Right, after 'in the middle' of my thoughts where it goes high pitched in two notes, in my opinion I think that is guitar, and then at the last line before the 'why should I care' part there is a short 'whoo' by apparently is done by Chaz, but you have to listen carefully cause it is very short and easily missed, I mean I've heard that song loads of times and I've only noticed it now!
