View Full Version : Recommend A Band

Will
12-07-2002, 11:16 PM
this is an idea that i got from the lpmb. basically, instead of just recommending a band or a song from a band, you'll do a little something like this:

band - trapt
album - self-titled
songs - "headstrong," "made of glass," "still frame"
genre - hard rock/metal
site - www.trapt.com (http://www.trapt.com)

basically, name a band, a few albums by them, some songs, their genre, and their web site if they have one. it's easier than creating separate threads for each band you want to get people listening to. also, if you want to recommend more than one band, make separate replies to keep the thread clean. alright? if you can't figure it out i'll help you.

Evanescence is up and coming and I think they'll hit it big really soon. Amy Lee is both beautiful and sings like an angel :)

Plus there's a swedish band (that isn't big here either) called Prime Sth. that has made two songs called I don't envy you and I'm stupid that really, really rock. I'm gonna try to find their album as soon as I get the cash :D

I CAN'T BELIEVE anybody hasn't mentioned these amazing bands yet...

BAND: System of a Down
ALBUMS: Self-titled (the best), Toxicity, Steal This Album!
(BEST) SONGS: Know, Sugar, Peephole, Darts, P.L.U.C.K., Spiders (selftitled)
Prison Song, Deer Dance, Chop Suey!, Forest, Psycho, Aerials (Toxicity)
Chic'N'Stu, Roulette, A.D.D, I-E-A-I-A-I-O, Mr. Jack (Steal This ALbum!)
STYLE: Metal (very original and quirky sound!)

BAND: Tool
ALBUMS: Opiate, Salival, Undertow, Aenima, Lateralus
(BEST) SONGS: Ticks and Leetches, Parabola, Schism (my favourite), Lateralus (lateralus)
Stinkfist, Eulogy, Forty-Six and 2, Pushit, Third Eye (Aenima) Also Sober is a good song on Undertow but I don't have Tool's other CDs...
STYLE: Progressive Metal!

These two bands are absolutely amazing with groundbreaking sounds! Much like LP, these are not your run-of-the-mill plain old metal bands! Prepared to be blown away! :chaz:

Wow. If you think LP is the best thing since sliced bread, you need to get out more. There are bands just as good, if not better than LP.

Yah man i would have to agree that LP is the best band since sliced bread. I mean sure there are other great bands but Lp just simply rules. That is why most of us are members here cause we all love LP!! :D

Tool and SOAD are you love 'em or hate 'em type bands. Songs by SOAD and Tool can match LP's songs anyday, I think...No offense, but both bands stuff can be a lot more complex than LP...Not to mention Serj's voice. But hey, I like bands who have different sounds. LP has a smattering of different genres, SOAD has a catchy, intense, and quirky sound, and Tool is such an amazing, innovative band. And yes, the first time I listened to each of these Bands (LP: One Step Closer, SOAD: Chop Suey!, Tool: Schism) I didn't like them and then listened again later and found how good they were.

But, Akuma, if all of us liked the same music, it would be bland wouldn't it? :D
