Microsoft is ok. The only thing I dont like abut them is there tv ads like from the super bowl. They made no sense to buy the products. But then again, there programs are used more by people then any other computer program peoducts ever made.
I like a small portion of their products, like Windows XP pro, but I can't stand their attitude. They're a bunch of anti-piracy monkeys. Besides Linux is much better.

Death to Microsoft :chemist:
When i get my own PC, the first thing i'll do is install FREE Linux.
Since when-the-hell has Linux been free?
I resent having to use a second class OS... i wait for the day of my first Mac

Linux has been free for ever.
It's the different versions (i.e. Red Hat, SuSE, etc.) that you have to pay for.

I want Linux, but as this is a family computer, I wouldn't be able to install it without bickering. They'd make me install it.

MS is dominating and that sucks
but dont forget how much energy they have putted in their product to make it as easy as possible for us to use,....
ok its not stable but if you just try to debug with assembler then you know what i am talking about ,...

J-Flex is right, the OS is horribly unstable, but you have to admit it's probable the most navigable, excluding Mac. :P

They are a monopolistic empire, but from time to time do good stuff (FS2004) .

Microsoft reminds me of the evil corporate empire animators talk about in comic books.
EDIT: OOOHH OOOH!!! And in video games (i.e. Umbrella Corp. in Resident Evil).

microsoft is ok. I mean they put out some good products. Windows ME was there worst product because there was a lot of bugs. I would say that I am the proud owner of 2 microsoft computers and 2 apple computers.

it only crashed 2 or 3 times....

The only real good reason I can see for having a Mac, or eMac, or whatever the heck they choose to call it now, is for video editing and the like. The downside to those things is that when you want a better computer, you have to throw it out and waste more money buying a new one.
Other than that, I guess Macs are alright, but I wouldn't use one regularly.

I still prefer Linux. It's on PCs, it's free, and open source, which means THOUSANDS of advantages over Microsoft's products. It still has to catch up with it in combatibility, though.

Impossible, any system could crash.

I think that when people get used to the navigational aspect of Microsoft Windows, then they like it better. If u use a mac for a while, u would most likely like it better cause thats what ur used to.
What I hate:
they are anti-piracy monkees (like someone said before)
they were idiots with the ussue when someone made "Mikerowsoft.com" and Microsoft was angry that the website was so similar.
I hate some of XP with all of their damn popup messages, so i turned everything back to old school windows style.
What I like:
I've had windows for years and enjoyed it. I wouldn't be able to get used to a Mac or any other type of system for a long time so naturally I stick with Windows.
No system can be perfect. But I like Windows 2000 and some parts of XP like the new sign-on system.

well so far in 2 years nothing serious has gone wrong with XP im happy i get new updates all the time antivirus scanners etc so yer i like it
Me and my friend were in the mall and we touched the mouse of one computer on a stand that was showcasing XP. A blue screen of death instantly popped up and we couldn't stop laughing. Much like that clip.
I haven't had any prolbems with XP on my computer, though. Microsoft, although monopolizings b*stards, are ok.

True. Most Linux distributers have their latest versions on their sites in ISOs.But they include only the plain program.

If you just want to try Linux, i can recommend Linux Knoppix (can be found on http://www.knoppix.net) It's a dist that boots from the cd.
The system just exists when the computer is turned on.
When the system is booting it recognizes all the hardware automatic, and you will get a full graphical linuxsystem :)
