alright i am not very a, skilled in the ways of internet im lingo, so can ya give me the basics in what some of them mean? i know a few, correct me if i am wrong

lol=laugh out loud
rofl=roll on the floor laughing
mao= my @$$ off
btw= by the way
brb= be right back
omg= oh my god, or ad an f for fricken


thats all i know, so alot times reading posts i cant have understand them in some im's/ forums

My advice: Don't bother.

It doesn't take that much time and effort to type 2/3 extra letters does it? I mean...why act as if you have the intelligence of a goldfish bowl when you can normally get A grades in English? It doesn't make sense to me.

As for understanding it - don't bother with that either. Do what I do and ask them 'nicely' if they can try typing in English ;p

Yeah, there's a point where you have to realize that typing like that is pointless. There's nothing worse than having your MSN popup and have someone say:

"Hey wtsup? lol omfg i feel sck rofl!"

i wont do it, more so than now, i use lol but thats about it, any way i want to know for when peeps talk to me, i know what it is they are trying say to me, without me saying, "What the hell!"

I use brb, gtg, lol/lmao alot, but I always try to use punctuation, grammar, and all that stuff. I hate when people tawk lik dis....how hard is it to spell something correctly?? I can understand it when it's covering up a swear or something, but jeez, some people actually write that way in school... :rolleyes:

All I use is "lol" and "lmao/lmfao". But everyone knows what those mean, and there&#39;s no other way (besides emoticons) to express laughter.

I hate any other lingo. I also hate all that bad spelling (it doesn&#39;t take much longer to find the right letter). I hate StIcKy CaPs and 1337 is only ever acceptable on MegaTokyo. Grammar is my biggest pet peeve. So... yeah.

I only use lol because it looks less demented than hahahaha. (w00t)
