Does anyone know what's TOP 40?
(Mike says it on Step Up...)

He's referring to mainstream hip-hop.

It's RIGHT there in the lyrics.

"like the only hip-hop you've heard is TOP 40.."

He's saying all you listen to is the mainstream work, and never listen to something that's 'underground'; something that's not getting air play on radios or t.v..

"Step Up" is the truth of a real hip-hop song. It's a masterpiece.

Step Up is a great song that exposes mainstream hip-hop for what it really is...

<Relating to the topic...>
Yesterday I saw a movie where they said "top 40", and related to a certain type of music...
Thats it, just wanted to let you know....of course you already know it...
Hmmm...I'm bored...

Step Up's like the best way to introduce LP. Maybe not musically, but the lyrics tell a lot.
