I am in the path of this thing. I also live in Delaware and right now I am getting a lot of rain right now. Also the winds are picking up. One tree in my backyard has fallen. My house is kinda surrounded by trees and I am really scared that more will fall and land on my house. I'm also afraid of flooding because there is a ditch infront of my house and everytime it rains a lot, it overflows with water. I can't imagine being in North Carolina/Virginia area. They have to be getting hit really bad.

The evacuation plan is for the states of North Carolina and Virginia (both south of me) for the coastal dwellings. I live inland about an hour or so from the beaches in Delaware. I won't get washed away by a wave or such but flooding is what will probably happen here. We have all our stuff either in the house or tied up with cords on the back porch.

Eh, that probably didn't make much sense.

[edit] Not raining here in Newark yet ECP, so I suppose it's on the way.

LOL.

I'm not sure. I just went outside and it's starting to rain pretty bad and it's very windy, also quite fun. I think the main hurricane is suppose to get here tonight.

Aw man, I feel bad for you.

I went outside and basically got smacked in the face with the wind and rain. It's wild out there lol. Amazingly, no other trees have fallen down yet, but I'm sure they will. :wth:

The hurricane will head up north, weakening but bringing bad weather to Eastern Canada & States...

Good luck to you all who are hit by this... I just hope nobody will get hurt, and that there will be no damage to your houses...

The young trees outback are being swatted around outside, the worse rain I've seen yet is now falling, bad winds as well.

I have never experienced any sort of natural disaster where I live. And all of those hurricane names amuse me. Why those names?

*ponders*

They choose names from each letter, each year, and the first hurricanne name begins with A, the second with B, something like this.

The lights keep flickering on and off here. The power hasn't gone out yet but I'm sure it will. Another tree fell in my backyard, just missing my house. I'm scared. :wth:

Do you have a basement? If yes, you should sleep there... Always listen to the radio for the latest news. And don't forget to post us updates about the situation.

I guess you're doing at least half of this right now :D .

Unfortunatley, I do not have a basement. I wish I had one right about now.

I tought almost anyone in your area had a basement or some kind of hideout in case such things happen... But I wasn't right :D . Is it calmer now? I checked the weather for Newark and winds seems to be down there...

As of right now it's light rain and it's still very windy. I think the winds are around 55 mph. At one point, there was this strong gust of wind and I swear I thought the roof was going to come off. Luckily, that didn't happen. I'm glad the power hasn't gone off yet.

Apparently we're supposed to get something like 80km/h winds but *looks out window* it isnt too windy out there

I'm glad the hurricane is over, atleast where I live it is. There was no damage to my house. Only two trees fell down here and there is some minor flooding but it's not too bad.

Also I think some people did die due to the hurricane in the North Carolina/Virginia area. *shakes head*.

It was mad windy and rainy this morning, a branch flew off my tree in the backyard, hit the window right by my window and cracked it, but now its freakin calm and sunny

We got some rain and we still have heavy winds, but I think that's mostly what we're going to get, because it cleared up. *sigh* We never get anything exciting here.

17 now... That's sad... But the world has seen worst...

Isabel death toll now 17 (http://www.cnn.com/2003/WEATHER/09/19/isabel/index.html)

Even here, up north, we can feel what's happening, but on a smaller scale. It's pretty windy and raining right now.

I'm happy no one on these forums seem to have been hurt :) .

No offence to anybody that got hit by Isabell....but

I actually wanted it to hit NJ
I mean, its like I wanted it to coem to break the monotony of things around here...but I didnt want it to take any lives or cause any major major damage.

I can't believe that many people died.
Its so sad that it happened...but I agree with Fred Durst

The Doctor

Well the storms over now, some branches fell, leaves everywhere, but it seems like everythings ok here

Chrissy

Damn nothing exciting in New York. I wanted more wind...and classes to get cancelled XD

In all seriousness, I'm actually glad we didn't get much. I wouldn't want to hear about people getting injured on their way back from one of the off campus parties because of the rain & high winds.
