View Full Version : Numb To Be New Single?

Bryan

Rumour has it that this past Saturday at the Summer Sanitarium at the Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Mike Shinoda told the crowd that "Numb" will in fact be the next single off of Meteora. Mike also said that they are already done shooting the video and that it was finished before Summer Sanitarium even started.

For right now this should still be considered a rumour untill there is an official word posted up on LinkinPark.com.

Thanks to mcnasty for this news.

Anyway, the video should be awesome times 1000. I have no clue how they could make it crappy.

I'm happy that Numb might be the single. Even though it won't get much play on the hard rock stations (if any at all), I'd still be happy. It's one of my favorite songs off of Meteora. I'm pretty suprised though. I figured it would be Lying From You or Don't Stay.

It's kinda weird how one of the last tracks would become a single. Someone posted a list of when singles come out and it said Numb would come out on September 1st. I didn't believe him because some of the dates were off.

IF Numb was going to be a single, remember it would be a single in the UK. Like Papercut, itll just be regularly played over there, wouldnt be the single for this country.

Why would he tell a Canadian croud what the UK single is going to be? Much less even telling them. There's enough people saying it's true and I've seen no one denying it that's been there.

Not really.

They haven't stated whether this is their UK single or their worldwide single.

Yes, the video gets released in all of Europe but the single itself (the CD) is only released in the UK and Australia.

Thats a shock. I always thought Numb would be kind of the In The End of Meteora in terms of success if it was released but I never thought it would become a single because its a last song and those are rare to become singles. Just goes to show how off I was.

My guesses were:

SIB>Dont Stay>Hit The Floor>Faint(Or From The Inside)

Then after Faint was the next single my guesses were

SIB>Faint>Dont Stay>Hit The Floor(or From The Inside)

Now that I was wrong twice here's my final guesses.

All US Singles:
SIB
Faint
Numb
Don't Stay
Hit The Floor(If they release 5 singles which doesnt seem likely)

UK Single:
Nobody's Listening

*hopes I wont be proved wrong again *

i think this is LP's best chance to have a U.K number one, if they are ever gonna get one

theres only been 2 rock/nu-metal songs in the last 2-3 years that have went to number 1 in the uk

Limp Bizkit - Rollin'
Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

Yea, this is my first post in awhile...Hi everyone :)

Well I'm kind of torn. Numb was sort of a special song, you know?

But then again, it's a kick ass track that'll do well on alternative and (maybe) top 40 stations.

I really really hope it's worldwide release....

Someone said they think Nobody's Listening would be a UK release..I agree. If BMTL and Rollin' (both rap rock tracks) did well, then Warner Bros. will release a rap rock single. Numb hardly as any rapping at all.

Yes, but Nobody's Listening doens't have much rock, though. It needs to be a balanced rap/rock track.

I was watching the Much Music Summer Sanitarium After party today on TV and this is what I heard from Joe " We just shot a video for a upcoming single, cant tell you what but um Chester and I kind of talked together on the phone, kind of going over some ideas and that turned in to the idea that um we shot. We actually went over to Prague to shoot part of the video but its cool, it’s a little different than stuff we've done in the past ."

This is an exact quote from Joe which I got off of the Summer Sanitarium After Party on Much Music. Prague is a European city so I'm guessing that Numb is going to be the European single but I could be wrong.

I leave for what, 5 days, and check these forums nd what do i find out. The next single could possibly be "Numb".

Maybe they are just going to make a video for the fans in which they can veiw by accessing a site off LP.com which can only be accessed by inserting your CD. This track is clearly ment for the fans and if anything, i see it as they are despirate for a rise in sales.

Although, I wouldn't mind having "Numb" as a single.

Weird enough yet?

Yes Mike said Numb is already made and that it is the next single. HOW MANY TIMES DO I GOT TO SAY THAT, its not like I'm going to make up stuff and I dont think Mike would make up all that stuff to thousands of people and the way the told the crowd it didnt seem like a lie, so I my self think Numb is going to be the next single but who knows and Newfy I dont think the video is going to be on the LP site and not on TV, they said its a single so it should be all over TV and the radio and how could the meteora CD access the video on the site when it came out before the vid was made

Yea i agree. They need to show people that they are a rock based band and dont just do rap and beats and stuff. Faint kinda gave them that idea but LP needs to make it clear with something like Hit the Floor. Numb is a pretty good song though

They already released a hard song which is Faint. Now they need to release a softer songer to attract the pop culture (Not saying that Linkin Park is Pop). And maybe for the fourth single it should be Don't Stay to attract One Step Closer kind of fans.
