Some may not see the importance of this post, but I believe it is really important to show this to the people who came to us after the site's opening. You see back in around...around...ah damn...Alex care to help me on this one?

Alex: "07/08/02"

...July of 2002, LPA was still in what Me and Omar call "Version 1" stage. Made in a point and click all flash interface with HTML pages for each section with about 1/4th of the content we have now, it managed to get about 4000 hits by July of 2002.

It was a small amount in comparsion to other sites but to me and Omar, who never ran a website before, it was unbelievable.

July to us is a very important month because it was when we ran into then 19 year old Alex Bustin on the LPMB who we originally intended to be simply for screenshots. Never seen by our visitors, here is the first ever PM we sent to Alex from Omar:

"I see you've taken some screen grabs of POA. Would u be willing to take higher quality screengrabs for use on my website? We'd give you credit, and hey, maybe we could even hire you as the official video screengrabs person ."

Alex was indeed hired as the official screengrabs person and in that same month we began work on LPA.com, thanks to Alex's generous offer to buy us a domain when we hired him for the screenshots and web design.

Fast forward to one year later. The puny 4000 hits of version one are now dwarfed by an average 5 to 7 million hits a month and Alex who was formally staff on invision now works on Sparkart, designing content for upcoming and sometimes big name bands, a job in which he gives the LPA credit for.

There are many important dates or anniversaries the LPA cherish but besides the grand opening of Version 2 in October, the purchasing of the domain has to rank up there as one of the most important moments to date.

Now with July around the corner, as a present to newcomers and veteran LPA fans alike, we are providing a look into LPA.COM's past.

People who were with us before the grand opening may remember the "Coming Soon" movie that ran on LPA for several months. Well thanks to Alex, visitors to LPA.com can take a trip to the past, back to where LPA.com began by viewing this movie once again.

Without further ado, I present to you:

LPA.COM BEFORE ITS GRAND OPENING (http://www.lpassociation.com/?p=soon)

I remember a crapload... even dating back to "version 1". I remember people fussing over the 'Enth E Nd' rip LPA had. People were stealing the thing left and right, arguing and other crap like that .

Then when LPA.com came around I was like, "another LP fansite, yay..." and I admit I was a little jealous in the beginning and it was until I actually became a part of the community that this place wasn't as bad as I thought. Sadly I thought the site was full of egotistical low lifes who just wanted to rip off other sites, but now it looks like it's the complete opposite .

Well, anyways, I would like to congradulate you guys on your success :). We need more sites out there dedicated to everyone associated with the band and the community. Sure, some people want to be jerks, and you have to take action, but it's for the best and I salute you all at a great thing you've become. I wish you all the very best luck for the future as well ;).

Yeah I remember it long ago as well.

I was doing some reasearch for a graphivs project I was doing at the time, so I was looking at various things such as video shots, tattoos and CD covers (It would of allll made sense if you were me :P)

So yeah, I had just heard about Linking Park, so I searched a few sites and found the LPA. At first I was just watching the little intro movie and thinking "What the hell is this..?" but it impressed me a little, therefore I went onto the forums and found myself being what I am now ^_^

LOOK...I WAS IN THE FIRST 100 PEOPLE TO JOIN!!!1111 (w00t) (w00t)

hahaha...but yeah, I guess I was here when all this started ^_^

HAHA! That was me on the LPMB accusing Derek (Mr. Delboy) of just taking the last 16 secs of Pts.Of.Athrty and calling it Enth E Nd! We got in a huge fight over it and it was hilarious. Who would've thought that I would've became Admin, lol. Oh, the coincidences.

I remember that. I was one the first peeps to see the preview of version 2. Alex showed it to me. I knew him from iBF. I've been waiting since then to be on staff but I'm prolly not good enough when they Alex here for all the designing. Congrats on getting the job from SparkArt, Alex! B) (w00t) :chaz: :mike:

As a matter of fact it's Omar who does a lot of the designing, I just did the header image, background and forum skin.

I do most of my work on coding the site and CMS.

Thanks for the congrats and good to see you back at LPA ^_^

Holy crap, I was just browsing around and realized that I had missed this topic..! :P

Ah, I remember how much I loved that intro when I first came to the site. ;) LPA has come a long way and is definitely one of the top, if not the best, LP fan sites out there. Congratulations on an almost-one-year-anniversary of LPA v. 2. (w00t) :D
