Some of France's wealthiest people have called on the government to tackle its deficit by raising taxes - on the rich.

Sixteen executives, including Europe's richest woman, the L'Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt, offered in an open letter to pay a "special contribution" in a spirit of "solidarity"

This has pretty much an identical vibe to the Jon Stewart thread I just made but whatever :lol:.

I don't get how there are so many rich people that aren't willing to pay more taxes when deep down they must know that it won't affect them much. Is human greed really that bad?

There are many reasons for a new thread,

1. This has to do with another country not America's Government
2. This is not a rant on views of taxes
3. It is people doing something that's proactive to help their country

These reasons warrant a new thread being made.
