Black would be more unisex than blue tbh.
But I vote purple 'cos purple is awesome.

We're actually probably going to offer two variations of the graphic (black and white) and allow people to pick any color shirt they want. That way everyone is happy.

As for the 'member number customization' unfortunately it's not going to happen. When you sell a product in a store, the printing companies usually use the pre-provided design for the shirt, and thus there won't really be a way to customize. It's a neat idea, but there's no easy way to do it and it's not really cost effective to spend 5-10 extra a shirt just to have that.

Black but I wouldn't buy it. Not for lack of want though.

But I do agree that it's a bummer we can't just have one color.

Imo, black + white, Red / gold. light + dark grey.

But the options provided, Derek, sound to be good. :)

Will the provider allow duo-tones (custom) or only a pre-set amount of duo-tones/1 color?

Derek
12-15-2010, 01:23 AM
We CAN just have one color, but then what about the people who hate that color? It could lose us sales. If we're gonna sell these we want them to be very popular.

Or T-Rex. :trex:

Seriously though. These shirts aren't made just for the tour. Which is why they don't have NA Tour 2011 on them. They're gonna be made for everyday use.

If you and your friends want to use the same colour, then communicate between yourselves and co-ordinate it. :)

But it makes no business sense to sell just one colour, considering the varying preferences of potential buyers. For example, I would never buy a green shirt but others may love one.

Just an update: We WILL be making t-shirts. Within the next few weeks or at least by next month there will finally (after 8 years!) be an official t-shirt for LPA. Right now we are just double checking and re-researching our available options for printing to ensure that not only can we keep costs down, but also ensure something of at least above average quality. If we can help it, we don't want to give you guys something cheap so hang tight. We'll have a shop up sooner than you think.

JESEFF

LPL is now ready to sell their shirts. Figure I would let you guys know.

We're aware. Unfortunately I can all but assure you that our shirts are going to be more expensive (probably in the 20s) and that's because we are making the shirts to help with the hosting costs here. We want them for the tour as well, but running this site isn't cheap and shirts were the easiest way we figured we could help make back some of the losses incurred with the hosting bill. As it stands, we only will be making 6-8 dollars on every shirt, which hardly puts a dent in the site's 100+ a month hosting bills.

Benjamin
12-19-2010, 02:31 AM
Maybe make a news post to hype up the shirts in the meantime?

While we respect that suggestion, it doesn't make much sense to rid the shirt of the URL as these shirts are basically walking advertisement for the site. They're meant to get people to check out the LPA, while allowing people to show their support and pride for the site at the same time. By not having the URL on the shirt, those who have never gone to LPA before are not going to know it's a website, nor actually know what it is. For all they know, LPAssociation could be a shirt designer like Ve'cel. Therefore, since we intended to make these for the NA Tour, it's important that as many LP fans see this URL as possible and go to it. We need new people on the site and this shirt is a good way of helping that happen.

On the back..

well, Since this is LP Association..

...Are we all Associates? XD

So on the back you could put "Associate." or something. Just sayin'.

edit: :awesome:

Kęton
12-19-2010, 09:30 PM
That'd just be adding to the production cost, forcing an increase in prices. Plus having "Associate" on the back would be a little redundant considering LPAssociation would already be on the front twice.

We should have a "LPA Shop" link which sells not only tee shirts like mugs or plastic bracelets. I could do with a new coffee mug.

edit. I know a cheap place near my Mum's place in Sydney that does all of that stuff for cheap.

Todd

Thanks for that offer but given the fact that Derek is in the US as well as a bulk of our members we will be going with a company based here. That doesn't mean we won't offer international shipping though, but for cost purposes we want an american based company.

Krylon Blue (" ...And The sky above you is Krylon Blue" ~ Dedicated) And I've always loved the Army Greens from Reanimation and the Gundam Versions of the Hybrid soldier in the sleeves. LP is definitely a revolutionary army in lyrics, in style, and we the fans are just as much so- so I'm really fond of the Green. We ARE an ARMY. :headbang:

I think what Abstract is trying to say is that he thinks we should have t-shirts in Army Green and Krylon Blue (Krylon is a spraypaint company). The good news for him is that he already can request LPA shirts in several different colors here: http://lpassociation.spreadshirt.com/

As for making new shirts? We definitely will toy with more designs down the line. Thanks for signing up Abstract! Welcome to the LPA!

Eh, not really. As long as the rules of the contest state that we can't use anything copyrighted related to the band, and just use the websites url, it should be fine, in theory.

You know, when I made that comment I wasn't even thinking about the restrictions from not being able to use Linkin Park-related material.

Legal nightmare x10*

Derek
09-12-2011, 03:55 AM
It's not anything having to do with copyrighted material. Sure that plays a part of it, but there's also the issue in using someone else's design on a product that could potentially make profit, and royalties/legal licensing for using said design.

Granted we didn't really make a profit at all from any t-shirts we sold (we made enough to cover hosting for a month pretty much), but anytime there's a chance of money being made, there's the issue of licensing and design royalties. It's a hassle.
