New Project - Rising Moon

[Polychromatic]

Rising Moon; this is an album that I made that will be released on November 26, 2010. The theme of the album is day progressing into the night, so the music will follow that theme. Happier tunes and softer music will start the album, but each track will get darker, and more chaotic in it's own way. The first song released off of the album was "Fifty One", which you can download below by clicking it's name. There will be more suprises such as preview snippets and possible releases of full-length songs along the way. There will be no more codes to crack, or anything like that.

Additional note: Although the album does have a theme, none of the songs will sound the same. For example, one song has marching drums, space-like synths, and a deep organ. Another song has deep bass plucking, light synth pads, and shakers. I can not say you are getting the most unique experience ever, but trust me on this one, you are getting something abstract. I was going to call this album "Abstract" but I thought it doesn't convey the theme of the album to well. Plus I thought the name was too cheesy and I mine as well could've called it "A Unique Album". The album for the most part is complete, and the reason you have to wait over two months for it to release is because i'm touching up every single track, making them as flawless as possible. I am trying different mixing, listening to various demos through speakers and headphones, and trying to see which sounds the best. Although it may be tough to wait, my job of hoping you will get the best experience out of my very first album, is even tougher. Thanks for following the project and caring so much. A gift for you all; "Solar" will be coming out early October.

I started this in May. I had 15 demos, and I just built on them from there. 6 didn't make the cut obviously, but as of now I'm mastering, cleaning up, and like you said, getting the names for the tracks. If I made these in a week I wouldn't release them as a big album. Alot of stuff I have was inspired by Ats when it comes to political speeches, so I had to rework a couple of tracks to give them that flair and energy.

Solar and Lunar and awesome sounding opening/closing tracks.

- very odd, never heard anything like this. it has weird vocals that i can't understand and has a really weird transition in the speed of the song. it goes fast, then slow, then fast, then slow and really slow. music sounds like something off of the x-files or unsolved mysteries but with drums.

- a weird laid-back song with hardly any singing, only some in the first part and some in the end. makes me feel as if i'm on a beach, but then it has sounds of thunder and rain towards the end.

- this one reminds me of a revolutionary war or something like that, it has fast marching drums in the first part and has this weird piano instrumental to it. there are violins before the chorus-like part of the song and they seem to be a little too depressing and moody for the actual song itself.

- this one made me feel really sad inside. it has a audio clip of some guy talking but his voice gets really deep and hard to understand, and there is like this weird female choir on the song. the piano reminds me of an old piano that i used to have in my house. 72 75 73 68

I sent my friend Kris 4 demo tracks, i'm not revealing the names. I had to beg her to give me good thoughts on each one, so here are some notes. Please note: these aren't in any order, and I will not be revealing the names. You can guess if you'd like, but don't worry the preview clips will be coming. And by the way, these comments were a compliment to me.

SOLAR : this one was very soothing, started with faint crickets and bird noises, and had a delicate synth to it. it had some singing but it sounded like a female was singing from a faraway place, i couldn't really make out what she was saying. felt rather short and quick.

ABSTRACT : this one had like a club rhythm to it, something you would hear at a rave or something. it started off like it was an eighties pop song but it became heavier and more electronic as it progressed. each part got louder and louder but then it faded into nothingness.

Well I decided to upload one of the tracks. This in my opinion is the weakest of the eight, so don't judge the album off of this. It is like if I gave you Valentine's Day off of Minutes To Midnight. If you don't like it, expect to be blown away later on. If you do like it, buy some extra pants so you are ready for the album.

Fifty One
A combination of freaky techno sounds, a different sounding drum beat. Really carries through the whole song.
At 1:55 I think there should be an alternative way to end that techno sound without making it an instant fade. I also think the speech is a little too fast for the rest of the song. Once the speech is done maybe add some drums to build it up, then go back down.
Its a pretty cool freaky sounding track. Definitely gave me the impression it was "dark".

I know. I was just pointing that out, because the whole album is a transition from day to night, and that track being near the end (the dark) really felt dark.

I added the new link. Now I didn't change the song to fit your likings, but I found the Mario Savio speech to be kind of unoriginal due to the fact that it LP already used it, and I found a way better one. Check it out.

I never really gave my personal take on the album, so I thought I should do so here.

This is my first ever album. I've worked with remixes before back in 2006, but this is my first attempt at creating my own, original work. I'm pleased with the way it is turning out. Just by experimenting I changed a simple grand piano into a psychedelic mess of echo and distortion. I managed to make a war-like battle song with marching drums and deep organs morph itself into a synthy hypnotic dance breakdown. I managed to have my vocals sound different in every song they are featured in. Times where I vocalize, it would sounds like an instrument, but it's really me with layers upon layers of effects. Times where I would sing and it would sound like a church choir, but it's simply a normal voice clouded with numerous effects. I managed to create an album that would start off warm and joyful, but dwindle down into a dark, mysterious collection of music. I can't say I've been working on this album for years, but I wrote a verse for "While We Wait" two to three years ago. It's the first time ideas aren't simply brainstorms that would stick in my head for a few minutes and vanish like they never existed. I'm making everything I always wanted to exsist, exsist. "Lunar" is a song I just can't spoil for you. It's seven minutes of pure emotion make the album in my opinion. I don't mean to make the other tracks sound like they aren't worthy, but "Lunar" is without a doubt my favorite. I would like to thank everybody (Hawk and travz21 in particular) for following my project pre-release. In about seven weeks I will be glad to share all of my hard work with you. And maybe I might release a bonus edition with some demos and b-sides that never made the album.

A four track sampler is on the way. Which includes a final version of Fifty One, and 3 untitled tracks (up to you to decide what they are). Also another update, I was working on a few demos and they sound pretty good. I might toss them on the album as bonus tracks, or possibly work them into the album extending the tracklist to 11 songs. It all depends on if they sound cohesive on the album or not. I'm 90% done with every track. I'm still mixing them and playing around with the instruments. I will update soon with more news, but for now there is no secrets anywhere or in any of my posts. Or maybe there is
