Attention All Members:
Due to recent events on this board that have transpired recentely and over the past year and a half, we here at The Linkin Park Association have been left with no other choice but to drastically overhaul a rule that has been a standard of our forums since day one. Effective immediately, Rule #3 (our Respect Other Users rule) will now be altered to state the following (see Red for changes):
03. Respect other users
You are entitled to your own opinions about matters discussed on these forums, but you must be willing to accept the opinions of other users as well. If you do not agree with the opinion of someone else, discuss it with them in a professional matter and do not flame the user for having different views. If you cannot resolve a disagreement or grudge with a member civilly over PM, then please cease contact with said member immediately. Any types of flaming will get a user issued a warning, and any form of threatening ON THE BOARDS to other users is not acceptable, and may result in a warning or banning depending on the severity of the offense. It is important to note that we will not be responsible for ANY events that happen off site and that any members who encounter a problem with a member of this board off site, are responsible for handling it themselves and not the staff of this site. We will NOT get involved in off site affairs due to liability reasons.
While we are aware that the aforementioned changes may result in some ill-will from some of our longstanding members, it is a necessary step that needs to be done in order to ensure the LPA continues to be a peaceful and respectful community for years to come.
Please do not hesitate to write me, or any of the other members on staff if you have questions about this new policy. Remember, we are not instituting this in a effort to be more controlling or more strict, rather we are doing so to try and uphold the standards in which we modeled this site after so many years ago.
Thank you for your understanding.
