Mosh Pits

Anyone here ever been in a mosh pit? If so, what was it like?
I have always tried to stay away from mosh pits. I actually would like to be in one just for the experience but I am kinda afraid to do it. :wth:

the only reason i'd go into a pit or an area where theres hella moshing is so hot guys can help me out, like what happened at warped. i got a bloody nose when people were hella moshing when bad religion were on stage. im so weak though. bad experience, except for the hot guys.

hmmmm...moshpits...moshpits...

I think that it all depends on who's concert it is...how "heavy" their music is...or just how p**sed up the fans are.

I remember the first time I was in a mosh pit...just a small club-type gig for one of our local bands. Because the place is small...everybody was smacking into everyone else...which then sparked into a full rage pit. It was half decent, yes I'll admit...but it was slightly off-putting to see somebody bleeding after being stamped on a few times :wth:

Then came a Linkin Park gig...luckily at the start of [nearly] every show, they always give a warning about the pits...and there is massiv respect inside them...whenever someone is knocked down, people are instantly there to pick them up...I got a pretty good veiw form on top of the crowd ^_^

I'm quite lucky, I've never been hurt in a pit...just knocked around slightly but no serious injury...best thing to do really is just to keep your eyes open for all the people that take things too far...

And now...I prepare for INME...a group I don't even like...but I'm going anyway with my mates :D

My romm became a moshpit when i played Breakstuff with 5 of my friends. We broke 5 CDs, my HiFi needed a new subwoofer and a kid had his arm broken.

mosh pits. i want to be in one, heres the thing, when ur at a concert and u see a moshpit, if ur to afraid to jump in, get ur friend to stand behind u and push u in. its a life or death situation. live while u can, it s not like ur gonna get illed, sure maybe something might get broken but u can heal. if thats not good enough. try to get to the front of the concert stand on the rail, and jump, then go body surfing!

Yes. Im in the mosh pit at every gig. Dont be afraid to be in a mosh pit. ou have to avoid being trampled on though.

Yeah, nothing difficult, just think you're at Chernobil after the explosion and u try to get out of the radiation and stuff... :chemist:

I was in a mosh pit created by girls 'cause the guys were way too rough & crazy. It was pretty fun; the best part was falling down. :D

I was in a mosh pit for one of the LPU Tour shows. In "A Place For My Head" where Chester screams "GO AWAY!!!" a giant part fell down but everyone helped each other up. We were all trying to jump at the same time and then swaying left to right. I hated the swaying because I almost fell hella times. Good experience though. Just stay away from the maniacs with their shirts off and who look like the gym is their home away from home.

i was in the mosh pit at a sum 41 concert :wth: and there where people with bloody noses etc. but they where still moshing. It was cool!

i was behind a small pit for a local band. i didn't get in, but i saw this girl come out, saying she had dropped her glasses. when she got them back, they had a big crack in em. poor girl.
um... when we saw bad religion at warped tour, the pit was massive. in fact, the whole crowd was massive. i was in the way back, and i could see people being tossed around, waves going through the people. there was another pit forming near us. it was wild.
