View Full Version : Something You've Done That Everyone Should Do Before They Die

Mark

This just popped into my head as I was listening in on a conversation between two of my co-workers where one of them said "Everyone should do that before they die."

Have you every done something or experienced something that you believe everyone should do during their lifetime?

I figure this could foster some good discussion.

Now, if you're going to say you've done something and as a result suggest that everyone should do it, make sure that it's a plausible thing to do. I'm not talking about "eat a chicken dinner at Morty's on the corner of 46th and Wesson". Nobody is going to be able to go to your hometown for a chicken dinner. Make it applicable to everyone. For example, skydiving. Or visiting Disney World (more plausible than coming to your hometown. :P). Be creative.

I went for rafting last year and the whole experience was unbelievable!
It raised my adrenaline though it isn't too extreme!
I definetely suggest you to try it!

Breaking into an abandoned US Blades and f***ing s**t up for days...
until the cops find out - because you've parked your car where they can see it.

(God those kids were stupid! :P)

This thread is meant to discuss worthwhile things that you've done that you suggest other people should do before they die.

Perhaps if I were to re-post the question, you'd understand:

"Have you every done something or experienced something that you believe everyone should do during their lifetime?"

Do you mean all at once? I'm not sure I could do something along those lines.

The one in my lip was bad enough.

with heavy rock music, huge speakers, lots of energy drinks...and the coolest, funnest bunch of friends.
It's a ride to paradise...so atleast when you do die and go to hell, you had experienced Heaven for a short while.

Spontaneously take a roadtrip across 4 states just because you have nothing else to do.

EDIT: And silve2, you worded your post so that it seemed like you had nothing to do with that event. That's why Mark reacted in that manner.

I'm surprised I haven't done that yet. I always find myself driving around aimlessly in the middle of the night. And one time when a class was canceled, I decided to drive and ended up driving all around Northeast Ohio for almost nine hours.

I almost did that with a friend of mine. Her and I almost took off to California, one night. Only thing that stopped me was that I had my mother's car.

Get kicked out of a Wal-Mart on purpose.
Make a three-course meal for some friends and have a dinner party.
Go to a playground in the middle of a warm summer night and swing.
Swim in the ocean.
Adopt a dog/cat/ferret/rabbit/other small and furry animal.
Get drunk on New Year's Eve and kiss a complete stranger at midnight.
Walk through a storm drain and sing.

Yes, I have done all of these.

Yeah, that's where we went, actually. Texas to Cali for no reason at all.

This weekend we'll be taking 10 people to Houston because... I don't know.

I've been to the CN Tower in Toronto. Going up to the top and standing on the glass floor and looking down at the ground thousands of feet below is one of the craziest things ever. Definitely something everyone should do.

Chris.

Well, I'd have to say one of the greatest moments of my life was quite like yours mark. I got to go to the Sears Tower in Chicago and I went to the top and got to look at almost all of Chicago. The view was just unbelievable.

You live in Paris, I think that counts as a huge one. ;)

Basically, I'd say visit foreign countries. I've been to Paris, Lille, Prague, the south of France, Holland, California, ...

Fly in a plane.

Play some kind of musical instrument.

Be in love. It's wonderful. Be open minded. and from a book i was reading you should do what the title suggests "Go Places That Scare You", do things that you're afraid to do, tell someone that you love them, give to the needy, camp out, take a road trip, give up something you love doing which you don't really need to do, write a poem. and EAT BBQ SAUCE ON YOUR MASHED POTATOES!

Try to get out and fly in an antique plane, like a 1929 New Standard Bi-Plane. Definetley one of the coolest things I've done, and I've done it 10+ times, because I work with that plane. Such a thrill.

As other people have said...open yourself to love. Give it a chance. It's SO worth it.

Something I plan on doing this summer...go quad riding through lots of mud, in a bikini, with Josh. Hell yeah.

Sink in one of those boats that you pedal with a partner in a lake... One of the funniest things that've happened to me.

Have a positive impact on someone else's life whether it be a friend, co-worker, someone in your family or just a random person. I've done this plenty of times and will continue to. I just think if you can bring joy to someone else other than your own self then that makes you a better person and plus it leaves a lasting mark. It's simply thinking of others. That's definitely something everyone should do before they die.

Oh I got some.

Make out with your sibling to freak some people out.

Go to a club named 'Enjoy' in the heart of Utrecht (Holland) and dance your booty of. It's a gay/lesbian/bi club and alot of people who go there every week, are really nice, open and relaxed.

- Be in a band. Seriously, there is no better feeling than creating awesome music with your friends. You don't even have to push for it to be successful. I just get an adrenaline rush whenever my band comes up with something awesome.

- Everyone should also visit County Kerry in Ireland during the summer time. The place is beautiful, the people are friendly and the air is so pure and clean. If you have spent most of your life living in a city then you will notice the difference in the air. It even takes a while to get used to.

- Visit Death Valley. I dunno why but the name just makes it that much cooler.

Hug a tee. Feel it's energy and life and soak up the oxygen it's pumping out for you.

Lay on the ground looking up at the sky and feel the earth rotate. that is an incredible feeling.

Get in touch with the earth, man! It is something I am surprised not many people have done.

Just get away from the city, even in your yard (if you have one), lay in a park or whatever. But the grass, trees, flowers, bushes, they're all alive and you can feel it...heck, even the ground is full of life! Remember life is all around us all the time. You just have to listen.

It's really great to get in touch with the totally awesome mother of us all! :D
