It's official, "Meteora" was the highest selling album of the week of March 25th - April 1st, 2003. "Meteora" crashed into top spot on the Billboard Top 200 charts today after it's first week of release. Although the numbers didn't tally up to the best selling week in 2003, "Meteora" sold more than 810,000 copies, just 62,000 units behind 50 Cent's 2003 record for "Get Rich or Die Tryin'".

This is Linkin Park's first time as #1 placeholders on the Billboard Top 200 charts. "Hybrid Theory", which went on to become the highest selling album of 2001, debuted at spot #16 on the charts, and it's peak position was #2. "Reanimation", a remix album, debuted at #2 in the week of July 30th - August 6th behind Bruce Springsteen's new album. "Reanimation" was also given the crown as being the highest selling remix album in it's first week in music history. "Meteora" is by far Linkin Park's best achievement when it comes to first week sales.
