So 'Hybrid Theory' turned into a remix with 'Reanimation' and 'Meteora' turned into a mash up with \'Collision Course\'.

Would be interesting to see what you guys/girls think they'll do with MTM?

I'm puzzled..

Probably not going to happen....this album wouldn't work too well in remixes. But with that said, I would love to see some rap verses from Machine Shop artists in there anyways.

Nothing. Same as nothing would've happened with Meteora if Jay-Z hadn't come to them and asked them to do the project with him.
They're leaving behind Nu-metal, and with it their hip-hop side (to a degree) I don't think we'll be seeing a remix/mashup album anytime soon.

I'm not too sure. I'd rather see a new album with new material rather than a remix CD again...not saying the other two remixes weren't bad, it's just I'd rather have MORE of their new sound than remixes of songs I know.

i predict another studio album. no remix one in between.

Collision Course had songs from both Meteora and Hybrid Theory.

If anything, I'm hoping for a b-side EP.

I get the feeling that LP might start writing again on their tour bus while they go on their touring cycle so that would mean we'll get a new album quicker than how long MTM took. I hope so, I mean I don't really wanna have to wait til like 2011 for the new album, the world might have ended by then.

But I'm with Cameron on this one, I'd like to see and b-side EP. And by b-side EP I mean tracks that none of us have ever heard.

I'm liking the B-side ep idea. But i don't think we'll see any remix/mash-up/live albums in between the next studio album. Maybe just wishful thinking but i have a feeling the next studio album isn't going to take anywhere near as long as it took for MTM to be released.

Screw B-Side EPs.

B-SIDE LPS FTW.

yeah in the Blender interview Chester said they'd churn out albums faster but I don't know if that's wishful thinking or BS or what

I can only hope whatever they do has more rapping. I'm not against their change, but the raps add so much to the tracks. I definitely don't want them to go back to nu-metal, but rap + guitars does not equal any sort of metal. And maybe... just maybe... if they REALLY don't want to sound so heavy... brad can turn off his distortion lol. Also, someone posted a back and forth vocal thing a la Taking Back Sunday would be nice, somewhere on the forums... I'd be with that.

I think that there will be something in between before the next one. Chester even said in the NYC conference that they most likely will come up with an idea and then go for it. So it's most likely going to happen.

Also should be noted, Lp still needs 4 more releases to get off their Warner contract, so they will want to release things on the side I'm sure...

As for ideas, the B-side thing would be very nice since I'm sure they have many many b-sides that we have never heard before. They may do an MTV unplugged, although I don't see how that fits in to Lp's style. I can't see them siting on their asses and playing Papercut on accoustic guitar, but maybe thats just me?

I bet maybe not on this album cycle but eventually probably on the next one they will do a singles and videos combo thing like depeche mode did. Put all the videos on a dvd, put all the singles on a cd and release them at the same time and then tour for that release, something like a greatest hits.

I honestly hope they never, ever do anything with hybrid theory again. Jesus, let that album rest. lol. It was awesome, but you can only reinvent something so many times...

i reckon theres massive potential for a remix album. the lyrics in m2m, have more depth than ever, and Mr Hahn could do anything with the music, considering there was little 2 no imput on his behalf in the album

b-side album should be like this:

A.06
Old Track
Old Track
Old Track
Old Track
Qwerty
ASP
No Roads Left
New Track
New Track
New Track
New Track
Outro

That would give me an LP fix in 2009.

Hey don't say that. I don't wanna miss the next cricket world cup :P. As for the next effort, I would want LP to release a new album a.s.a.p. with more rapping on it and release exclusive tracks (b-sides) on a monthly basis.

The next cricket world cup? Jesus, I'd gladly take the end of the world just so I wouldn't have to witness that again.

Do you know how much that would rule!
in fact, it could be a double album what with all the reanimation remixes that never made the cut. Heck, they could even re-record the Xero demos again too. The list is endless really.

But I'm dying to here the rest of the Meteora B-sides. But did warners really delete/destroy most of them? I seriously cannot see why.

Linkin Park come up with cutting edge crazy ideas.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say they might release a free album (quickly produced). Or for cheap like $5 and all monies to charity.

I think they will release something in a similar vein to "Live In Texas". And apart from wanting releasing their next studio album sooner than they usually do, they really need to do it for the fan's sanity and their own musical future as LP. And I guess now that rick ruben has influenced them greatly, their writing process shouldn't take as long now. Kind of like opening the flood gates, so to speak.

I'm a little non-committal to a remix cd of M2M. I personally didn't like most of "Reanimation", except En Th Nd and a couple of others. But I did and still love "Collision Course" and thrash it to death still after all this time. I think though, LP need to look to a different direction to that of remixes and such, and I believe they most likely will.

"collision course" wasn't really a follow-up to "meteora". it came about incidentally. besides, it's not just "meteora", the mash-up EP used songs from, like, 3 other albums on it. ;) i don't see them doing anything to the "minutes to midnight" tracks; like, i don't think they'd work that well, most of them don't really have the hip hop vibe most of the older stuff did. mike czech skratch n' sniff [sp?] tried a mash-up thing with "minutes to midnight" songs. and that was nothing short of crap. :)

remixes worked with the old stuff. this stuff is the new LP sh*t and it's goin' a little differently.

I think it'd be intersting to hear LP do an unplugged album... just because KoRn did it, and it was so melodic. I mean, if a band like KoRn can do a toned down, unplugged album, imagine what LP would sound like. It could be great, it could bomb... who knows. But, if, like they said, they came up with the idea to do it, they'd go for it, so hopefully, soon, at least it's something... guess we'll have to wait.

Well, seeing as they're going on tour for the next year, they will have ample time to write. And as Chester said, they won't be taking so long between albums anymore.

So in about a year and a half to two years, we'll get another studio album.

I think Mike should continue to be a vocalist in Linkin Park but he needs to do something unique with his raps or develop his own singing style like on No Roads Left. He's got Fort Minor and it makes it kind of hard to find both FM and LP identities when he's rapping the same way in both.
