From what I've heard, people either love "The Little Things Give You Away," or hate it. Honestly, I was disappointed the first time I heard it, but after 3 or 4 listens, it was one of my favorite songs. I'm interested to hear anyone else's opinion.

The first time hearing it had no affect on me. About the 3rd or 4th it just... had something. No idea what.

I don't know, I guess it doesn't quite live up to the hype for me. The rest of the songs rule though, except In Between. Something about that song is so....boring.

right now its one of my favorites, i HATED it at first but...i am enjoying it so much right now.

the part where the lyrics die out..that beat and then the solo starts well that whole part reminds me of pink floyd for some reason, in a most EXCELLENT (Waynes world pun) way

I love the song. The solo is beautiful, and I like how Mike and Chester sing at the end. It ends the album in a great way.

I think the drums were better overall on technical over the guitar, but the solo had so much heart into it.

I really love the ending and would enjoy seeing all six of them singing it live, instead of what it sounds like how it's only Mike/Chester with a computer mix.

Really, not AS great as it was said, but it IS the best song they ever wrote to me. Only beats out Pushing Me Away and a few songs from MTM though by a little.

I didn't even think it was LP since it was the first song on the album I listened to. By the end I thought it was refreshing and cool. Now I really like it. Sure, it's basically a power ballad, but the harmonies with Chester and Mike in the last minute are excellent.

My reaction to first 40 seconds: WTF :-(

My reaction as the the song kept going: OMGWTFBBQYES! :-D

I can't really place it, but the song evokes memories of my dad putting on music that he liked, music from back when he was young, when I was a little kid, and me enjoying it with him. Folksy a bit maybe? I have no clue, but I feel the lyrics are great; not complex but not blatantly simple, but slightly ambiguous and open to interpretation, making you think. Also the way Chester's singing is nuanced, not too soft, slightly raw, but not overly done, perfect. And when the guitar comes in, it's pure awesomeness.

Love. This. Song.

Edit: I think I got it. It feels like Stairway to Heaven, how it goes from quiet to somewhat loud, then a bit like U2.

it sounds like a country song, but I love it.

I love the build up in volume and depth from the beginning to the 3:12 point. But I think the song could have been ended a lot better. I was expecting something after the solo other than a long, repetitive closing. Maybe a powerful chorus or something, I don't know. When Chester sings it's nice but as soon as Mike starts singing I can't hit skip fast enough. I love Chester's voice on this song and I guess I just wanted more. Oh well, no complaints.

when i first heard the song i said it was over hyped but like everyone else it looks like it catches u after a few times around and does anyone else think that in the beginning when chester is singing some things sound like michael jackson... which isnt a bad thing he might be a freak but his voice use to be good

I loved it from the beginning, along with every other track on the record :P

I may be a "macho man" lol, but I literally cried when I heard TLTGYA... mainly because some of my family members lost their home, and one was killed, so I really could relate to this song. I'm with LP on this one... it's one of the best they've written, I think.

I really love the song. I do think it was over-hyped. It wasn't the best song on the album. But it was still very good.

"The Little Things Give You Away" is without a doubt my favorite song on the album and possibly my favorite Linkin Park song ever. It's just so emotional and mature.

Actually, I just spent awhile listening to it, and with each listen, the song got better, and now, it went from being simply a good song, to now being my favorite song from the album, and one of my favorite songs of all time. It has really great lyrics, awesome instrumentals, and Chester's singing is amazing.

The first time i hated it. The end was extremely repetetive, it didn't had that sound I was looking for, and I thought it was WAY overhyped.
And now I'm in love with this song, in fact with the whole album.
This album really needs a 4th or 5th listen to really feel it.

You know what, you just had to get used to their new sound. Then you'll find out they didn't just do it to be a boy band, they really meant it. This album is much better than Meteora and just as good as HT . And I'm listening to TLTGYA right now :-)

I wasn't too keen on it the first time I listened to the album, but after a few times through it's definitely grown on me and it's becoming one of my favorite songs on the album.

i really loved the chorus. those words are haunting.

the lyrics in the chorus were ... haunting. i really love the song. ;) (gotta say, that chorus was very "evanescence"-ish, somehow.)

This is by far Linkin Park's best song.

The best part is at the end when Mike and Chester's voices overlap eachother.

I don't really like it all that much. And it's not because of the "new" sound, or the fact that it's slower, because I loved Shadow of the Day. I just feel In Pieces owns all over this for best song on the album.

The chorus is very haunting though.

Ive listened to it once, and i hate it... but once i get the C.D tommorow and blast through everysong ill probably like it. The first time i heard what i've done i didn't like it now i LOVE it so ill most likely change my mind about it.

I'm loving this song more and more each time. This song is a little too good to listen to all the time though. The vocals are beautiful, but it's kind of a depressing track when it sinks in.

I interpret it as someone who is drowning in water and reaching out their hand. They are looking up to you to save them, but nobody seems to care.

You could at least explain yourself?

I think this song is wonderful and is Linkin Park's best work to date. I love the sound, the lyrics, the solo, everything. It's just amazing.

yeah i've liked it more and more each time too. it's kind of drawn-out, but i like the first half a lot.

at first i didn't like the acoustic. but eventually after like five listens, it just goes so well with the song. i really like how the samples and the acoustic go together, its really cool and different. then the last half of the song just owns.

How they plan on pulling this song off live with like 3-4 guitar parts and 4 vocal parts at the end of the song, I have no idea.

Brad's going to have to learn how to sing a little bit and Chester can play guitar...hahahaha

I hated it on the first place to , because it's not style of meteora and hybrid theory. After hearing it couple of times , the song makes sense to me and I love it right now.

Lots of sampling.

I don't like the ending but the rest is good. I love the irony in the way Chester sings to Bush: "All you've ever wanted was somebody to look up to you/and six feet underwater/I do" It's genius!

I hated it on first listen, I was like WTF? But like most of the soft songs on the CD, they start out pretty weak and end very strong. You just need to have the patience to like it. I like it now :D. Think it's a nice combo of instruments and carries out its ideas through the lyrics very well.

Its hard at the begininng to get interested. hen its like w00 w00 i love this song!

It's like a progressive song so it makes it better, and the message is nice too.

This song kinds of remind me of "stairways to heaven" style. LP did a pretty good job of making the album. This is one of my favorite songs..

This is honestly one of my five faavorite LP songs ever. I never knew they had it in them to do something this emotional.

Since Meteora, I gained a new appreciation for softer music and I got into bands like SOmething Corporate and Jack's Mannequin, and this song just really hit me.

Great song. Truly different from any piece of music they've ever made. Powerful lyrics as well.

Even though there isn't much lyrical content in the song, it seems to do well and not to under done for a 6 minute plus song. It builds the whole way through and just peaks during brad's awesome solo. I love this song, but as I generally have a tendency toward heavier tracks, this song sits perfectly at #12 on the album. What a perfect ending to a great album.

...and as one said earlier Chester's ironic words to george dubya bush was awesome lol. I really think LP can and will become the band of this era. As U2 and the stones and beatles did of their's. Evolving and re-creating themselves time and again til the end of time( heres to hoping) lol.
