So by now, you all have heard Chester's part in Young Buck's "Slow Your Roll" and undoubtedly were surprised by not only just how much Chester exhibited his range, but also how unique his melody was in this track compared to anything we've heard in Linkin Park so far.

So my question is, would you like to see more vocalizing like this from Chester on Minutes To Midnight, or would you prefer if he stays as far away from it as possible?

Post your thoughts.

I'm really hoping that this album is heavy, but I would also like to hear things like Slow Your Roll in it.

I'm not sure. I can really see it being an even mix, and I wouldn't mind either way.

I voted for yes too. The way he sings the "NO MORE!!!!" when he starts stylizing is amazing. Especially the little growls and screams at the very end.

*EDIT* Added a not sure option for you unsure folk.

I voted for yes.
He sounds great in that song.

I'd also want to hear a song with Chester rapping and Mike singing

Hopefully they could do that without making it sound like a joke.

That would be one way to sound different lol. If they do that i wouldn't want them to over do it.
And i voted Yes, I think he sounds great in the song, sounds very different.

I think it's possible with a little practise. That would be the coolest song ever :)

The lyrics in this song are kinda sappy but if they could have excellent lyrics with 'soulful chaz' (as said in Collision Course) I'd be very happy.

Yeah, I was kinda disappointed when I heard that he's just repeating one line. But it sounds nice nonetheless.

Is anyone annoyed by the double negatives?

But not that he whole album he should sound like that but some songs may have a chester like this in it.

It seems like Chester is getting better and better. Always.

I would definitely like to hear him sing like this on at least a couple of tracks on Minutes to Midnight. This is absolutely incredible. I've never heard vocal range like this from Chester. It's amazing.

amen, there is no better way to put it. :)

I had a question that maybe one of you can answer. did Chester write the part he sang or do you think Young Buck already had them ready for him when he came onboard? I've always wondered that, like Handsome Boy Modeling School's song and others.

can't wait to hear his vocals

I'd think that he wrote his own lyrics. I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards that.

Same thing with Mike and Chester being featured on that track with Handsome Boy Modeling School. I'm pretty sure Mike and Chester wrote their own lyrics. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure.

I hope he didn't. They're not very intelligent lyrics. I'm pretty sure Young Buck wrote them. I'd be disappointed if it was Chester.

Well, you have to consider that perhaps Chester watered them down specifically for the song.

And added the double negatives as an insult to all of Young Buck's.

i don't see why not. i really liked his part on slow ya roll.

I think a question is though would the song be totally Chester singing like that and carrying the song ala Breaking the Habit, or would it be more like Slow Ya Roll and have Mike rap with Chester singing chorus and bridge? The latter would work really well, almost like a soulful "High Voltage", but the former might be a little odd on the CD. Then again, they do want to experiment, and that would be an even bigger one in my opinion than BTH.

PS: 100 Posts! WOOT!

I hope there are songs reminiscent of their cover of Wish on the album. I long for some aggressive Linkin Park songs that show off Chester's powerful voice.

I'm not going to post a direct link to an mp3, because you're not necessarily allowed to request mp3's, but hopefully you can use your brain.
