Well, so far we've had (in chronological order)...
Ninjas!!!1eleventyone!!111!
A hot girl crawling around in ice
A big statue and a bigger whale in the middle of the fuckin' desert
LP playing unplugged with Rob's melting face and some crazy blue guy in the next room
Robots beating the crap out of each other
Chester dreaming about Mike catching on fire while hanging out with a bunch of hobbits
LP playing live, seen mostly as shadows from the back
An emo girl watching the whole world pass her by while LP rocks out in a church
A big riot that gets broken up when a little kid's scream kills everybody
Chester un-falling from a building and playing on the roof...anime style!
So the next video...hmm...something with lots of explosions I hope. ^_^

well i really wanted them to shoot a video for Nobody's Listening and i had a gr8 concept in mind. anyway, i'd want it to b a black n white video in a "crouching tiger hidden dragon" kinda place where Mike'll transform into Chester ryt after he's done with his verse! and the other members will just appear and disappear in smokey kinda effect, playin their instruments. its hard to explain, thus hard to imagine..i knw!!

Maybe a water themed video? I cant think of anything imaginative at the moment lol
If they made a video for Nobody's Listening does anyone picture yellow and brown? I picture that for some reason. And maybe some red.
I think the new video should be dark. Black. Lots of black. And a piano in a cornfield. They should really try something mysterious.

Personally, I don't care what route Linkin Park takes with any of their new videos.
The way I see it, every video has been relatively different. From the absolutely wonderful descriptions (), you can tell that every video has been different.
Knowing Linkin Park and how they've been with videos. the video for their new single, whatever it may be, will be different from the rest. You don't know the single so you don't know how the video is going to be. But the way I see it, the song will be different from anything Linkin Park has done, as will the video.
And HybridSoldier, I like how you say they should take the challenge and make the video because they probably haven't performed the new single live prior to its release, so they have no choice but to take the challenge. Oh, and it's not really a challenge they take. They set it up for themselves. ;)

Or for Nobody's Listening, they could have had it in a CGI Japanese garden like In The End. The trees could have white leaves and be all freaky-deaky and stuff. Maybe Joe's face could melt this time too.

I doubt Linkin Park will be making any video clips for their next album, for the same reasons that Pearl Jam didn't on their later albums. If you look where Pearl Jam started off, they used to seen in the same light by society that Linkin Park is now, and they got so fed up with the criticisms that they were in it to feed kids with garbage for money that they stopped making video clips for a while to prove that they're in it for the music. Video clips are often a waste of time and money and are used to sell records. If Linkin Park continue to make videos, their reputation will go down the craphole forever.
You may get a live concert shot, but that's it. MTV said that they weren't playing Linkin Park anymore because they were 'too commercial', makes a lot of sense doesn't it? Well this always happens to someone who's a victim of corruption, and if the bands motives are what I think they are, there won't be any video clips.
Besides, video clips often lose the mystery in the song anyway. A lot of money would've been spent with the last 11 that were made, and it would be wise of them to take a break. It's the music that should be important, nothing else. Argue with me all you like, but don't look too shocked when you find out that I was right.

I say they still make a video. The guys (esp. since it is in the desert it doesn't leave much possibilities....scar tissue from rhcp was cool and vertigo from u2 was horrible...it just has to be a video of them singing but that isn't going along with lp in general...god...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh !!!!!!!!!THE AGONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
maybe somwhere in nevada...during a nuclear bomb testing :)

Ladies and gentelmen we have our answer. Countdown clock in the corner while the song plays and at the end the bomb drops but in a very non-cheesy way the bomb stops right before it hits and doesn't detonate. Good job team.

Just an Idea...but...What I've done...maybe it has something to do with before and after...maybe the desert just symbolizes something...I mean...maybe the video starts like in the end ends...like...beautiful landscape...and then it ends with the desert...to symbolize their starting from scratch (soundwise)....I mean...basically...that's what they did...they said they threw out everything that was old...

Or................Maybe it could just be a 3:00+ video of the band shaving Brad's afro in the desert

Holy moly! This video kicksass! It's totally the opposite of what I've expected. But still it's cool to see LP make a video regarding delicate issues like global warming and stem cell research.

I'm loving it.
I'm actually suprised at how little we see Brad. During all the guitar parts the focus seems to be on Mike, which i thought was strange.
Totally different to anything else they're done though. Can't wait to see it topping the video charts this weekend :D

I'm shocked. This is far from what I was expecting,
I actually believe it'll be banned from MTV cause of all the violent imagery it has. Great video though.

Yea, maybe due to the whole burning cross bit. Hmm, I can't decide if it getting banned would be good or not...
Make the song so much more powerful though, it deserves to be seen.

man that vid was so cool. i just watched it and it blew me away. i never thought that linkin park would have a video about global warming and war, it was totally unexpected. i was a little worried that the new single wouldn't top the charts, but now, i'm really confident that it would, at least in america. it might have the same effect as the black eyed peas song "where is the love" did.

different from most lp vids, but i thought it was awesome with the visual imagery, the scenes of hunger, violence, etc. well done.

I dont know what to think really, dont know why but i just get the impression there being someone there not. It's a good video and good song but just not liking the change in terms of fasion, album cover and the video.

I dont know who they are trying to be like, but i'm not really liking it. The song come to think of it is there worse single so far, I just find it weak, and repetitive, nothing special. I still have hopes for the album but just not liking the change that much.

i disagree...the single is just ok,melodic,it's got the old lp,and some changes...it's just ok
somwhere i belong-THAT was bad

I prefered Somewhere I Belong though because it was more diverse and catchy. I understand though that they are changing there direction and style but this isn't much change and it's weak.

i really don't know how any single can be called BAD coz singles are the songs that are the best off the album. this video is indeed different...fresh. Lp gave the people what they wanted...change. people always complained that LP was always the same stuff, well.. this just proved them wrong. and in the beginning of this thread, the whole idea of starting this video with the end of in the end, and the desert...it's almost LP was here and read what we wanted. they always give us what WE want. if they are a handful of fans who don't like their new style, well they can't change the world for them. Lp knows their fan following. Heck, i bet they are the only band who RESPECT their fan following and do so much for it...
the video is classy and neat. Lp has always been neat. certain clips really got me. like before the brigde when the cold wind sweeps over the trees, that was beautiful, and the penguin in the oil...that was real eye catching.
the band members look their best. though rob has never had any great change ever. hahn and phoenix are their meteora self. brad's afro...i can't stop myself from saying that suits him too well, he looks nice. mike's facial hair growth and the rough look, does him well. His goatee needed a little modification and it does him good. the new haircut too... he's not redifining himself to his looks anymore..but to his simplicity and music. like phoenix. the whole jaggered look also adds feel to the video...a feel of need. Chester's aviator glasses, hair and gloves, and the way he works the mike stand.(is this the first video single in which he has a hand mike?)... that's what highlighted his new look. and the band wore all black and tight pants. retro meets nu metal. i sound like a fucking fashion ramp walker reporter...i should stop!!!
but yeh, the video was neat cut. very neat cut. the length of the song really gets hidden because in the short span we get enough to satisfy us. The whole new lp is actually just the same...just a lot more soulful.. and with suitable makeovers. It's great how the band members look so different from each other...i mean, there's brad with the afro and rob...the plain simple self... any other band are just pulled to the center of looking just like one other... except maybe red hot chilli peppers...but not to LP's extent.
Conclusion: Though the video does not have mass appeal like LP's usual thing...it'll take time. LP's songs usually take time to sink, till you've heard it twice or thrice and you really can't think of a better song. Reanimation wasn't a very good experience, but after a couple to hearings...it wasn't all that bad either. So yeh, hurray to LP for another fantastic job!
