What do you think? Hopefully, this will spark another debate.

ooh i got first vote!!! :D
anyway i think he did what he is being accused for, and since this is a global thing he will have to get a fair trial. and his lawyers would not stand for anything else.

I really doubt that it'd be a fair trial... How could they possibly find people who haven't already formed an opinion on the situation? :P

they are doing this trial differently than normal ones. i don't know if this is true or not, but i heard that the jury is going to be a leader of every major country or something like that.

Death penalty I'm guessing.

ehh that's nothing...
they should do to him what he did to all of his people in iraq....all of the torture and cruelty. THAT would teach him a lesson.

How about Bush? Why don't we try him for all those deaths that happened/are still happening during his reign in the White House? I'm not saying that Saddam deserves to go free, but there are a lot of other tyrants out there.
Yeah, I think Saddam will get a death sentence. The possibility of him getting off easily (minds out of the gutters, people) is alike to the possibility of beavers learning to fly while playing guitar and yodelling.

hey anyone wants to punish bush for all that he did, go for it. i agree. i am just saying that death is the easy way out for everything he did.
To who voted innocent (I know who you are, won't say your name. Just one of the perks of being an admin :D) would you please explain yourself? I mean, saying he's innocent is like saying 2+2=5.

I'm saying uilty , but unfair trial. I'm saying this because he decision will get rushed with all the insergents (sp) attacking the court room and other people working the case so it will be hurried . Also some victums might not come forward or if they are about to come forward they will be killed by saddams follwers. heh just my houghts

I meant Iraqis too, not only soldiers, I understand that the soldiers chose to fight for their country.
I really have nothing more to say on this. I voted Guilty/Unfair Trial.

you know, the Iraqies what him back.
I dont' really blame them though, they are really lost and don't know what to do. This "freedom" they have is being eaten up by every power-hungry slime-ball out there!
it's hard to be forced into a situation where you HAVE to make a choice, yet you still get in trouble for it no matter what. It seems easier just to follow the rules that were there.
anyways, this is rather off topic. and I shouldn't be in here.

Oh, Todd, are you serious that only Admins are supposed to see what people voted for?

I can see who voted for what. You too?
You know, you're going to see a wave of tshirts coming from this. "Free Saddam" or some shit like that.
If saddam can get ahold of Johnny Cochrane, he's free as a bird

Bush is tyrant?
I wasn't aware.
Guilty. Fair trial. The whole world will be watching this and Im pretty sure the people will want the trial to be fair.

he's complaining that it isn't fair cuz he can't see the witnesses. gee...like anyone would want to be seen in front of him, and he knows it. actually he said he wasn't coming back if the trial continued to be unfair like that, but in iraqi law, the defendant can be forced to come to court. and i doubt he would want to stay in his cell. he likes the attention.

You don't have to be a mod to see who voted for what, lol. And I can't see the trial actually being fair, everyone is to biased right now.

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe a judge/jury member will be flown out from the States. Maybe the judge will have been bought off.

Well, that happens in war. Innocent people get killed and there's no one to blame. Except if you shoot someone on purpose. If you drop a bomb in hostile area and you kill 10 innocent people, thats just the price of a war.
He's obviously guilty, and his trial will be as (un)biased as it gets for someone who's committed more war crimes than Bush for the other side.
"Is Saddam Hussein guilty?"
Hmmm... I wonder. No shit he is.

Saddam wont have a fair trial, because everyone knows he's guilty. His fate was sealed before the trial even started.

i don't think he would take him on anyway...although i guess he wouldn't have to worry about the money.
i know if i was going to represent saddam, he better pay me millions and millions of dollars, cuz after that trial, no one would come to me anymore.

i don't really care wheter or not it's a fair trail
i just think that he needs to be punished for all the things he has done
he ruined so many lives
i just hope that the people who "choose" wheter or not it will be a fair trail will take full responsibilty for they're actions

He is guilty. This trial is not fair in the fact that he is being held accountable for crimes he has committed, solely because he lost the war. Those who have won wars rarely stand trial for the crimes they commit during them.
Within the trial itself, it's hard to say. Assuming this is an Iraqi court, which I'm under the impression it is, I'd say not. If that's the case, it would be the Reign of Terror judging the former King.
