When a new album has leaked, just alert us to it in here.

The 3 tracks were kind of in the middle of 14 shades and Break the cycle. Not really leaning towards either album.

Actually, I just downloaded the sampler and I must say this is a huge improvement. I'm very pleased with "Please".

I really like "Please". It has a cool guitar part and nice chorus. I can see it as a second or third single from Chapter V.

Yep, it's the whole cd. I haven't really listened to it "in-depth", but I think the single was the most "radio-friendly" of the cd (for those that were worrying).

Just finished... I'll tell you after I listen to a little of each song (I'll listen to one minute or so of each, tell you what I think, then listen to the entire songs).

Yeah, might as well listen to the entire thing.

I hear it's absolutely beautiful. There's an orchestra and piano in some of the songs. Let me know if there's any acoustic tracks. "Wasted Years" and "Black Sunday" were the best tracks on 'Year of the Spider' and they were both acoustic.

I've listened to a few songs so far, and I have to say, the "absolutely beautiful" comment is right. If you liked "Year Of The Spider" you should love this. It's got the same kind of production as that, but with much better lyrics.

Scooter said he was renaming "Anatomy of a Tidal Wave" to "The Calm That Killed The Storm" to be respectful to those lost in the South Asia tsunamis. I believe the ripping group just named it wrong?

Probably... "It was the calm that killed the storm" is stated in the song, so I think it's a mistake by the ripping group.

"A Different Kind Of Pain" is a little acoustic, it sounds like. Not exactly acoustic, but there's a nice piano intro in it and great vocals... you know what I mean? Definately worthy of being the title track.

Yeah, I heard ADKOP from the radio rip of the 4 songs a few months ago.

In hindsight, thatwas a mistake. But at least they weren't very good quality.

The songs are better than those radio rips... they're a bit changed, too, it sounds like. They sound great.

I'm done with the last song... I pretty much stand by what I said. The record's got that tone is pretty much the same all the way through.

No real acoustic songs, actually.

There are a couple of heavier songs, but they pretty much stick with the tone. "Ocean" is a great closer. It's got some amazing drum work if you listen closely.

Guitar and bass work is relatively similar through all the songs... the songs you've heard so far should give you an idea of what to expect from the other songs in terms of guitar and bass. There's some good rythm work in the songs, though. Nothing amazing, nothing bad, but it's missing some key riffs like "Year Of The Spider" had... but makes up for it in great rythm.

Hmmmm... maybe an 8 or an 8.5. I'm not a HUGE Cold fan, but I've been a fan since the self-titled and 13 ways. It's some of their better work, I think. There's maybe a song or two that kind of seem to drag on, but there's really not a bad song on the whole thing, I think.

:lol: I know, i know... i suck, but waiting for two month would have killed me. If it was being released in the UK, i would have waited. :(

The album is amazing though, beautiful is the word. It's a little different from the other albums. It kind of has a set atmosphere all the way through listening to it. Listening to those Radio tracks kind of ruined it a little, but it didn't really matter as you get to hear them in their best quality. Every song is brilliant and has a deep meaning.

It's different from YOTS, the lyrics go deeper and the songs aren't structured like your typical radio rock song. It's a shame there's no acoustic songs, but it has the majority of soft / uplifting songs and there's always radio / live performances for acoustic versions.

I personally think ADKOP is the better album, but YOTS has some better songs. In other words, there are some tracks better than others on the album, but the tracks that are good are absolutely amazing.

I can't wait for the CD, i'm hoping that there will be a hidden track featured on the actual album, as there's not one here. Also, i can't wait for the cover art. Great, great album.

That song ruined "Year Of The Spider". That album would've been great if there was just another song in the vein of the rest of the album.

Maybe you could pre-order it through Amazon?

If you go to an HMV over there, you can ask them to order it through Amazon.com because they're partners, and they'll have it in quicker.

I still think it comes out one day before in the UK, I can't see why Lava wouldn't export it over to Europe until later.

Half of the bands I listen to don't release their albums over here, i always have to import them, usually through Amazon. HMV sometimes get them in a short while after, but not always & i don't really want to take the risk of them not having it. I could always ask the next time i go to HMV, but i'll probably end up ordering it off Amazon and waiting the extra two weeks.

Plus if HMV do get them in, they're always really expensive because they're on import.

Staind's three song advance is also great. Please is arguably their best song I think.

The new Smile Empty Soul is pretty good, same style as their last effort, no screamo what-so-ever. If you support Bush though, don't even bother. :lol:

It's a shame really, that the album tends to focus on politics rather than emotion and feelings. I'm not a great fan of political music. Musically though, the album is great and there is the odd song that doesn't follow political issues. When there's a whole track that's a phone call recording about some guy trying to kick one of the band members ass because he flipped him off for supporting Bush, it kinda goes a little too far in my opinion. Funny though.

I know you are trying to send a message out to the current generation out there, but if you want to do that, then go on CNN or something and say it there, don't let it mix in with your music. Music is supposed to be fun, and that's what's missing these days. The bands that are good right now, play music because they want to, they don't want to do this kind of shit.

BTW, the current generation is pretty much fucked anyways, so...sorry about your luck (no offense to anyone in that category)

I forgot to report this a few weeks ago. Quaint little record. It will sell maybe probably alot of copies just off of it's Adult Swim connection. I was checking for it before I heard about the Adult Swim product placement/tie in/MF Doom most definitely getting his paper up, then I heard about it and was like "Ehh." Then I heard the actual album and was like "Eh. =/. Whatever."

Agreed. I've been waiting for this to leak for about a month now. Those samplers that kept leaking weren't doing anything.

Yep. Mine's decided to fluctuate between 20-70 kb/s. It's about 70% done. I'll post a review of sorts on here when it finishes. It won't be a full-blown review but a recommendation kind of deal for those who want to know about it.

EDIT: Holy shit. This CD is really good, yet another great release of 2005. If you like Rush, you should like this CD. I know it's probably not fair to make a comparison but to a lot of people (Such as my family members), Claudio sounds a lot like the vocalist from Rush. The stand-out tracks on this CD would have to be Always and Never, Welcome Home, Wake Up, and The Willing Well Parts I-IV. I recommend it...for anyone. 5/5.
