IGN reports that George Lucas will go ahead and adapt all six "Star Wars" movies to 3-D format and have them ready in 2-3 years. It is expected that each of the six films will be released individually.

Producer Rick Callum is impressed with the test footage done for Episode II and IV.

"The images have just been startling [in] quality, especially if you have a big science-fiction or effects-laden action movie. You start to see things that you just couldn't see in the 2D version."

Currently only 500 or so 3-D theaters exist in the United States.

This guy is SO being paid to be impressed, though.

That may just rock.

But I agree with Andrea, he is pretty much selling out.

I saw that Anya had replied, and came here expecting a comment about how she was going to love every moment of Princess Leiah in her swimsuit. In 3-D. :P

So, what will be the actual difference be when we watch it in a theatre or home theatre?
