DVD to DivX

O.K, i'm trying to convert some DVD's to DivX on my computer, i've tried heaps of programs, can't rember the name of most of them but they all take a very long time to convert a movie, mabye over 2 hours, are there any programs that can do it faster, or is this the norm.

I'm not talking from experince here, but everytime I convert video it takes a long time. I highly doubt you will get a quick conversion with respectable quality, if at all.
