Hey guys, this is my situation...

I just got my computer reformated at the local computer store and now when I try to play music in the background while playing games (ie. Warcraft, GTA:SA) like I used to, nothing comes out of the speakers. The song is playing with no audio. As soon as I exit the game the music starts playing. However, when I put my headphones on everything works fine, the audio in the background plays perfectly while playing the game. If you know what I could do to fix this, I would appreciate it greatly.

Have you tried reinstalling your sound drivers?

Try your speakers with another source...try a portable CD player. Do they work with the CD player or other source?

Yes on both. I reinstalled the drivers twice now to try to fix the problem. The speakers work fine when the games aren't being played, but when they are running there's no sound (even with the sound minimized).

Thanks for the replies though.. I've tried just about everything.

That's what you get for going to a computer store for servicing. <_< Go over to them and bitch, it's their fault in the first place. ;)
