Windows update keeps bugging me!

The last time I had my Windows updated, it crashed.


Then my mum had it re-installed.


But the stupid icon still bugs me. And I can't get rid of it. Every few seconds, it appears and asks me if I want to restart the PC. It's annoying.


Is there a way to just cut off this update thing?

go to control panel, automatic updates, and turn it off. Hope that helps :D

Windows Update is a whore. You don't need it unless like a service pack comes out, but then you just download it.

that, or just reformat your computer and run every update. it's good to keep your computer updated, in my opinion. but most updates aren't necessary.
