So, I'm using my regular silver XP theme, right? I've seen a lot of the backgrounds you guys used and you have those uber super duper awesome skin things that make the toolbar and etc look totally rad. So would any kind soul mind giving me a few links to find this stuff at?
Sorry if the question's been asked before..
Firstly patch the uxtheme.dll file by using this (http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=308905). This allows for unsigned themes [aka non-Microsoft] themes to be allowed to be used.
And then once you've done that, you can dload a theme from deviantART (http://browse.deviantart.com/skins/windows/visualstyle/).
Once you've found a theme you like, extract it and then run the .msstyle file which is in one of the folders. Make sure you install any fonts included, otherwise some things might become screwy. ;)
HTH.

That's only when you listen to Aaron and use Stardock's products or Windows Blinds. My way doesn't use any third party applications [other than the app to apply the patch]. The patcher just modifies the uxtheme.dll to allow unsigned themes. The theme itself won't take any extra resources as it's a part of Windows.
But with StarDock or WB, you have an extra program running in the background, using up extra resources to make it so that you can apply the theme, and blah blah.
My way is the more resource-efficient way. :)

I also prefer Tomi's way.

See?
Tekkiji - Most people use WB because that's the only method they know. I used to use it too, but that's before I learned about the uxtheme hack. ;)
