"John Stedman, a lieutenant in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in charge of IP violations, testified in front of the Senate Homeland Security committee that some associates of terrorist groups such as Hezbollah may be involved in copyright violations. According to CNET's Declean McCullagh: 'Even though Stedman's evidence is circumstantial, his testimony comes as Congress is expected to consider new copyright legislation this year. An invocation of terrorism, the trump card of modern American politics, could ease the passage of the next major expansion of copyright powers'."

Why doesn't the US government just replace the word 'bad' with 'terrorist'.

Oh they will lol. Every generation needs it's scapegoat, 30 years ago it was the communists that were responsible for all evils, now it's the terrorists who are running Limewire or Kazaa lol.

Instead of chasing music-pirating terrorists (as if piracy is REALLY going to bring America to its knees, christ) they should be directing their attention towards Al-Queda members or people who are actually committing REAL crimes.

And then you wonder why people think America sucks, we're so childish at times.

I wonder what would have happened if America just gave up the revolution and had Monarchs. As much as it would have sucked...maybe...I don't think we would have so much problems.

So what does this actually mean? Are people who download music illegally regarded as terrorists?

Someday that'll be the case.

Mother: Son, what is this music file you have on your desktop?
Son: Oh, just an unreleased song I downloaded off of the internet.
Mother: Did you say unreleased? Isn't that illegal?!
Son: *gulp* Yes.
Mother: *pulls out gun* Get out of my house...you terrorist!
